Was down on the Waimak early on about 7.30. Never bothered to get my rod out as a few minutes after I arrived the Police came down and told us there was tsumani alert. Hung around for an hour or so off th ebeach but this was a non event down there. some surges but nothing of life threatening kind.

Still better safe than sorry. Over all I think the co-ordination seem to work throughout the country. So that's a plus.

Was planning on heading to Papamoa last night but decided to go this morning. That was until all these Tsunami reports were coming in. Thought i better not waste the day on a beach that is closed so we headed off to Raglan which is only 30 minutes away. And we find they closed that bloody beach as well! Ah well didn't stop me or the other hundred people swimming.

At the info centre in Raglan at lunch time.
Poor ol biddy was fielding calls non stop from locals n tourists alike.
I planned to climb the closest Pohutukawa and ride it out.
    Nice day.
