What do we need to wear in regards safety gear?

Do we need back protectors (I don't wear one on the road, so would rather get one sooner than later if I need one for this course).

Cordura pants okay? (I'll be good and put the knee guards back in) - these should zip to my leather jacket, I'm thinking.

Quick clip helmet okay or do I need d-rings? (I have one of each, but use the quick clip as a commuter/main helmet).

Basically, I don't want to ride down and find out I should've worn/bought something else.

    from the flyer...

    RIDING GEAR
Wear what you feel safe and comfortable riding in
An approved full helmet that fits well with a clean, clear visor
Leather gloves, motorcycle boots, 1 or 2 piece riding suit - leather or cordura.
A back protector is recommended but not compulsory

    YOUR MOTORCYCLE

If you ride it on the road, then your bike is suitable for this training day. As long as its safe and road worthy, then all we do is tape over our headlight, mirrors and indicators for the day. Luggage or top boxes are OK too, if you usually ride with them on your bike, then it will more closely simulates your real riding conditions and you can leave them on if you choose.

Thank you. I had looked but not found.
Kewl, so pick up the bike from its service tomorrow, figure out tyres, check WOF & rego, fill up and I'm ready to go (hmmm, sounds expensive lol).

I'm going. Have not decided when I'm heading up there, was wanting to see when other Welly girls are going? I can go either Monday or early Tuesday. Always love riding in a group rather than on my own. But either way, I'm sure we'll all have a GREAT day as a group.

    Weeeeeee can't bloody wait.

damn and double damn. Havent been able to find someone to sleep over with my sprogs, it's going to be too much for me to do it as a day trip, so I'll have to give it a miss this time around.

O well, it will be a wonderful day for you who are able to get there.

I'm booked too and raring to go, there'll be 2 of us riding early from New Plymouth for an awesome day. I'm intrigued on insurance tho - my broker doesn't agree Pro-Rider meet their requirements....who do you have insurance with Pegasus?

Quasi and Katiepie (and anyone else who's interested) I'm keen to go up Monday evening if you'd like to form a group

    Hi all

I'm riding up from Nelson as one of Karel's assistant coaches. I will be arriving around 9pm Monday night in Wellington off the ferry then back again to catch the 6.30pm ferry Tuesday night (I've only been able to get one day off work to help Karel). Will be a long day Tuesday but it will be worth it. These are fantastic training days and we have a lot of fun. Looking forward to catching up with you all!

    Cheers

Hi Jill - Goodness, that's quite a mission for you! Will be great to meet you, and the rest of the girls on the day.

I think I'm offically obsesed! This is all that I can think about at the moment. Will be riding up from Wellington on Monday evening, staying up there, and then heading north to Auckland straight after the course.

Hi Jill, that sounds like a busy couple of days, I'm looking forward to the day - I'm riding up Monday during the day and back again on the Wednesday, I'm a very new rider so I'm STILL going to be exhausted!!!

Just thought ild let everyone know that state finally covered me with NO CHANGES TO MY POLICY OR CONDITIONS, basically meaning no increased excess. This was made possible thru Karol explaining the conditions and itinerary of the training, as before this they denied me outright. Hopefully now that ive gone thur all the motions it will make it easier for other people to get covered for this sorta thing thru state =D SO EXCited
Cant wait till training day on monday!
