Looking at getting a new bike - advice on RGV250 ?

Hi there, So i have been riding my MC17 CBR250 for a year now and want to stick to a 250 but looking at getting either an RGV or maybe a rs250

What should i look out for on these bikes ? I heard that they are not for beginners but I'm pretty confident i could handle one..Also is 35,000kms on an rgv quite high? chances it will break down?

haha! that first pic Isn't a 92 model...more like 88-89 cause the 90 or 91 model came out with the banana arm(swing arm)

yes he's sure, just do some googling and im sure you'll see for yourself,
35000km, yes and no, that is high if nothing has been done to it,
pistons and rings need changed every 10k-15k km, rings should be changed/inspected every few thousand kms
and most importantly the power valves, they are the weak point on the rgv's if one of the pins break then shes an expensive
time, they are great bikes, it was my first road bike when i was 15, and im still here.... just.

I am also considering getting a 2 stroke 250. Although i think i would only go for the Aprilia. How much for new pistons and rings?

Shame there aren't any vj23's floating about. They could tempt me as well. Still got another year until my full license so it won't be totally wasted getting an rs250 i dont think!

with the kms of the 3 you've picked out the rs obviously stands out as the best deal on paper, however......don't underestimate the value of buying from a dealer. private sales are completely caveat emptor (buyer beware) whereas holeshot are bound by the conditions of the consumer g'tees act

before buying any of them get it independently checked out

if holeshot are a little bit negotiable i would even consider that one myself!
