Bike boots, advice please

Hi all.

my boots are buggered,,, reason,

im a adventure bike rider, so after we have done the road bit, we stand up to do the fun bit....

so whats happened is ive chewed the center bottom out on my pegs....

so.

what we like to know, what brand has a good thick sole,
at the moment i use the Cnell brand.http://www.trademe.co.nz/Trade-Me-Mo...-273879956.htm there a good boot, comfy and light. i dont want to go to a heavy MX boot,

so what ya think..

I've always used trials boots - they aren't as heavy duty as MX boots,but still have way more protection than road boots.They are made to walk in,and made to grip the ground in all conditions,and directions.

I've just bought my first pair of road boots in 30 years...but still keeping the trials boots,for trials.

for now i just put a couple bread bags in to keep me socks dry..

Try some Forma ATV's on. They soften up nice,(use bee's wax when new), only use 3 snap buckles so are easy to walk in and are solid. Bout $250.

those forma atv look just the ticket!I was looking for a adv/road boot and got some Gaerne Explorers,I would have liked to try the formas,but no one local had them,needed new boots asap as my old ones had started falling apart,they are comfortable but still feel clumsy on the bike.i think they have a waterproof and breatheable liner too.

I've got Forma ATV's for adventure riding. They are great. Got nice grippy thick sole for pushing the bike through the rough if you have to. Waterproof too although I wear my pants over. Nice and flexible to walk in and look pretty nice and neutral, not like a hard core mxer.

Another vote for the Forma ATV. Hubby thinks his are awesome.

They were priced at about $300 (I think) but the price went up hugely last year....can't see how they justify such a big increase since the boots haven't changed.

But will the soles last any longer?

i may just go in to town and do a bit of investigations.... thats a big word for early morn.....
the cheap Cnell have lasted a year, so it my work out cheaper in the long run to buy cheap boots, wear them out and get another cheap set....

Ive got a set of SIDI MX boots you can have for cheap ($200 plus shipping?) they are size 41 IIRC. I bought them second hand but they've hardly been worn: they're a bit hard core for the Scrambler to be honest. PM me if you are interested and I will send you a photo and whatnot. I use SIDI road boots and they fit the same
