Because XT is the cheapest by far. Now I know why. You get what you pay for.

I have a TelstraClear Nokia which I got free, a 6275i and have had it over a year and it's been perfect. Only $20 pm, 500 text/pic to any network and 29c calling to any landline or mobile in NZ! On the old network I've had no problems, save not being able to pxt my wife, but it seems to be only her phone!

When deciding what to do about a business phone, since I'm spending a lot more time calling, I carefully considered all the networks before deciding to upgrade my old Vodafone pre-pay which I still had to a free Nokia E63 on the 120min plan. Get 120min, 600txt, 1 Bestmate. Telstra was next best, but couldn't give me the phone free.

My son-in-law runs a business in Auck and we chose Telecom for everything as they had the best combination including free-calling between all the work phones and the lowest overall costs. He's had no trouble at all with the XT network and they work throughout the city.

My new Vodafone sends pxt and txt instantly between the networks with no issues. I sent my old Sony Ericcson K750i to my Mum as a present and she stuck her 2Degrees sim in it and while I can send her pxt she can't send me one, however I'm not sure whether they are still learning how to use it yet, as they are not very techie. I'll call 2 degrees and ask them.

Shorai Powersports batteries are very trick!

i still run old-school telecom. no problems whatsoever. wife and kids are on XT - poor reception at home and they go into 'emergency calls only' mode often.

Daughter has an 022 as well - it's really good, but can get a little expensive. has great service though.

XT is rubbish. We went on to it at work (cos we got some deal with telescum for all the calling we do).

I'd happily go back to Scodafone if I had the option.

XT will be fixed pretty soon, or so i've been informed... I've also been informed that someone decided to implement an architecture that didn't make any provision for failover (oooo, that'll save money)... some people saw this coming... some just crossed their fingers and hoped that the architecture, as it was, would be fine... DOH!!!
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!

Endless problems since i signed up. XT has lost me sales, delayed txts and calls always dropped, even when the tower is in sight. Look forward to the change

Interesting really. I switched the company to XT after me and the wife switched and we have had no problems at all. We were pissed off at the shit reception of Vodafone. I was anti-telecom for ages but then decided to look into them again.

What does piss me off is Telecom keep giving us these bloody credits with reasons like "down network" when there's been nothing wrong with it for us

    Oh well
