I've got a better idea for sterilising them..... boiling!

I would get sterilised of they gave me $5000 (but would freeze some sperm first just in case)

Knowledge is realizing that the street is one-way, wisdom is looking both directions anyway
I don't really care if these people are breeding.
However we need to stop paying them to do it.
We are well into the time where breeding is optional - contraception makes the whole thing optional, for some a lifestyle choice (nothing wrong with that if you can afford it), but for others a career choice. Why should I, as a taxpayer, fund these people?
I'm always amazed at the comments of some people who say it's their "right" to have a kid. I dunno about a right to breed, but why should the taxpayer pay for it?
By all means offer free contraception, sterilisation and abortion to these troglodytes, but no lump sums.
Just stop paying benefits to (DPB, Working for Families etc) and make people plan and pay for parenthood themselves.
I too agree with Oscar in this instance.
What brought it home to me was standing in a bank queue and listening to the 2 young "ladies" behind me, planning when they were going to have their next offspring for the sole reason of increasing their DPB payout.
How can we have been so stupid as to make this possible?
I have been told (although I have no idea how true it is) that Canada has a similar system. The difference is that there is no increase for additional kids. Apparently the idea is that one mistake is permissible but any extra is just carelessness.
I may not be as good as I once was, but I'm as good once as I always was.
$5K incentive to get neutered.... fair enough...
Wonder how much it will cost us in compo with the old "Boo Hoo, I was vunerable and taken advantage of - its not fair I demand recompense for this trampling of my human rights'" crap...
$5K would be cheap. I've been doing a wee job in ChCh and went for a walk in New Brighton to get some lunch.. Fark me - no one person I passed in the street was without serious 'issues' and half of em had kids tagging along... sweet jesus....
