Thumbs down It's official, Fogarty has...

choked on his own cock again!

From AMCN Vol 54 No 21 Pg 12

"Four times World Supebike Champion, Carl Fogarty, has claimed he'd have beaten Valentino Rossi had the two ever raced head-to-head. In an interview with Britain's Sky Sports, Foggy said: "I admire Rossi and I do rate him quite a lot, but I know when I was racing he was someone that rated me too. I'd love to race against him. I just believe if I had a bike, and a team that did everything I wanted to then I would beat him, that's just me. I have to believe that, I'm just being honest.""

Why is it that people here have problems with people who are self confident. Is it because they fear their own abilities so much.

Read the original quote properly folks.

If he really is the grand poobah of them all, he should ask for a lend of Rossis spare bike(s), thus giving mechanical equality, and a few practice rides, and then put his money where his mouth is

I suppose if I'd won 4 World SBK titles I'd be abit up myself to .Don't know about beating Rossi ?? is that now or did he mean while he was racing ? If it was when he was riding it could have been close may have even managed a Win ,hard to say . I don't mind C Fogarty purely for his Skill tho

Im with TwoSeven on this one.......although Foggy at his peak would not get near Rossi.
He still has the evilest "look", though.

I can't see Fogarty beating Rossi more than 1 to 10 races... He's not that good. Just look at who has beaten Fogarty, how and when.

You seen his eyes when he is angry. Saw him mad once when he was club racing - not a pretty site

Basically what he is saying is that he is confident that he can achieve anything he puts his mind to. Which is true of any successful person - if they had self doubt, they wouldnt achieve anything would they.

Rossi is exactly the same, and to be honest, so as any club racer in this channel - if they weren't, they wouldnt be lining up on the grid to compete against everyone else now would they. I would expect everyone one else in MotoGP to be thinking the same thing - after all, they are trying to beat him every other week aint they - you wouldnt be doing that if you didnt think you could.

The problem is, there are many people that cant cope with self confident people - perhaps as I said before, they have too much self doubt in their own lives to be able to understand the view of someone who has none.

Also if you read the article correctly you can see the author is trying to twist words. He is saying "he'd have beaten" Rossi, where carl is actually saying "then I would beat him". One is past tense the other is future tense. Put that down to the auther being a complete tit. Heck, misquoting someone in the same paragraph is a pretty silly mistake.

What a complete and utter tosser! He won his championships when the rules were heavily in favour of the Ducati's he won them on. Michelin made sure he had the best tyres. He effectively had no competition. Those that challenged him on inferior machiney did it by riding the wheels of their bikes.
Non Ducati riders complained for years that the WSBK rules gave 1000cc V-Twins an unfair advantage. This year it looks as though they are being proven 100% correct. Now that the rules aren't completely stifiling the 1000cc fours performance, last years Ducati mounted "World Champion" is consistantly circulating in the middle of the pack. What more proof does Foggarty need?
I think the right point was made above, he's starting to doubt the validity of his titles, and being an insecure pratt, he is shooting off at the mouth.
