I'd have liked to have seen Slight win that year when he missed out by a couple of points. That was his year - one better start that season, and he would've been #1. Still, in a couple of races he was absolutely superb - twice he crashed and made his way back up to second.
    ... and that's what I think.

    Or summat.

    Or maybe not...

    Dunno really....

Hey!! Wanker isn't an Essex term, thank you very much. Hmmm, though we might use it more liberally than the rest of the UK...

thats why i rekon slighty would beat foggy. He came close to winning on a 750 against a litre bike. I found it really frustrating at times (altho it was awesome racing) to see slight work his way up to fogggy and even get past only to be blown away on the straight.
This year the Superbikes are real superbikes and go suzuki eer honda. Would kinda like to see suzuki win this one. Either way it bloody awesome racing so far.

    No. Got a link? c&p?

As for the losers comments. He can tell himself (and unfortunately the rest of the world) that he could beat Rossi. Doesn't make it fact. Or even believable for that matter. The fact of the matter is he was only a superbike champion, and never proved himself to be a real world champion. It's like some loser wining winning Indy a couple of times and saying they could wipe the floor with Schummacher.

Self belief is one thing. Delusion is another.

Something like Castrol Honda RC45's maybe? Hang on, they did Foggys first year, 4 wins, Slight 1 win, but Slighty finished in front in the championship

What I find intersting is the fact that Foggy has never bad mouthed me. Because he knows I'd kick his arse, both on and off the track.

    Ahhhhh - that's better.

Sometimes people say to me "Oh King Frog. You are a legend. Given the opportunity where would you rank in the current MotoGP riders?" Well I'll tell you. I always rated myself as being quite a bit better than Rossi - it stands to reason with my high corner speed style. Furthermore Rossi has always looked at my aquatic achievements in awe and rated me as his idol. Now if you look where Rossi has finished in GP's over the past few years then obviously I'd be a bit higher than that. Which, by my legendary calculations, would mean I'd easily be MotoGP's best rider if only I'd had the opportunity.

Here's my top five losers at China

    MotoGP
GP's have always been the poor relation to the superior rich uncle that is World Superbikes…especially in 90's. But this weekend's race in China was a showing that GP's are nothing more than international club events designed for the TV viewing public who don't really understand motorcycle racing or the skill needed to have high corner-speed like me. Jacque would never have finished second in a WSB race, not even if he was on a Petronas. He's definitely no legendary King Frog! Hahah! See what I did there? How I used 'Frog' because he's French? I better write that one down. I told you I was funny didn't I? It even says so on my website.

    Sete Gibernau
Here's another example of the state of MotoGP. I didn't win countless World LillyPad championships by sulking about my back tyre and shaking my head. Gibernau should have simply adjusted his style to suit and then cranked up his corner speed that way he'd have powered to victory. I was always noted as a rider who just got on with the winning aspects of racing. Gibernau should take a leaf out of my book…any of them.

    Max Biaggi
I've never really rated this guy - he wouldn't cut the mustard in 'Supers. What I don't really understand is all his moaning. Moaning gets you nowhere. That's why I was always noted in the paddock as not being a moaner. If something was wrong with the bike I'd get my spanners out and fix it myself. I was always a brilliant mechanic and could have been the best mechanic in the world given the opportunity. My latest book 'Froggy's bikes' explains how I engineered and designed all my winning bikes - from the colour scheme to 250cc overbore. All my own work.

    Kenny Roberts
Now the non-Superbike fans amongst you probably thought that Kenny Roberts Junior had a mechanical failure that cost him the race. Let me assure you it wasn't. No, he pulled over because he lost his nerve. I remember his dad having the same problem and retiring from racing when I came onto the scene. It runs in the Roberts bloodline I'm afraid. Never rated any of them.

    Nicky Hayden
Never really rated Americans - and this guy is no exception. Water in his electronics? Adjust your style to suit I'd say."

    Hahahaha...nice one.

Firstly, I agree that Foggy is an arrogant prick, and I don't like arrogant pricks at all.

Still, I read the original article on some US site a while back, and the impression I got is that he was basically saying that he's a super competitive prick, and no matter who the competition, that competitive nature would drive him to beat the rest and be the best. Still pretty big words, and it's a bit redundant to say it given that it will never even be allowed to happen in any realm of possibility today...but I think it's unfair to say that he's claiming he's definitely number one and he'd wipe the floor with Rossi.

    Foggy = thick and wet.

Back in his day I rated Foggy highly,he was super competitive....when he got pissed off and was after someone you could see it,you just knew whoever he was after was a gonner, and those eyes - if I was sitting next to him on the grid and he turned and gave me that look I'd just stall the bike and topple over on my side. One of his most memorable races for me was against Edwards - they were going into the last corner elbowing each other,Edwards pushed Foggy right out onto the grass, but Foggy came around him off the track and on the grass to win! So,so competitive.

But every so often in motorcycle racing comes along someone who can't ride for shit - but they are winners,Carl Fogarty is one of these. He can't set a bike up...he'll make some change that's completly wrong...and go faster and win! After reading Slight's book,Foggy's own book and some others I'm pretty sure he hasn't got a bloody clue...but he doesn't need to,he gets results.I have a test in a magazine where Allan Cathcart rides both Foggy's and Slights Honda's back to back - he said Carls bike was almost unriderble,a totally bizzare set up,a very high seat - in Cathcarts words ''Still, the overall effect of the set up wasn't very confidence inspiring - but if that's how Carl likes it,who am I to argue'' then on Slights RC45 - ''it was just a much nicer ride all round''.Ok,one man's view, but how many race bikes has Cathcart ridden over the years - I don't think there is anyone in the world who has a broader experiance.

Foggy couldn't beat Rossi because he couldn't go to Yamaha and turn a loser into a winner,he's not that bright....the Foggy/Petronas?????
