Buy shares in the oil companies if you think they are profiteering. They are publicly listed companies. No reason for you to miss out!

Put farts in Jars - run the bike on that.
KB is a good source of high quality farts too - just filter the dribble out.

You don't need $200k. Most shares are under $100. Haven't checked a specific oil company. Usually it is better to buy then in $5k parcels otherise you'll get hit with a minimum brockerage fee.

but if you woiuldn't mind... i'd just like the 200k to make some quick cash on a zero risk basis (not saying you ain't a nut case when it comes to debt collection), then I can pay you back, reinvest the earnings and not have to put a cent in... ... Cheers for the stocks purchasing advice though

ps. BP is currently trading at US$55 a share.

The dividend is a meagre 0.84, so I wouldn't be buying this for an investment if you want to live of the return!

Petrol prices ridiculous.........shit yeah..........91 is up to $1.27 out our way and bloody diesel is up to $1.26! Profiteering bastards!

    (and don't bother converting it to $NZ - I don't get paid in $NZ)

That does it, I'm going to switch the SV to diesel from now on (its a twin so shouldn't make much difference to its running).

didn't really notice the extra $0.25 to fill today. Until the scoot starts costing what the car used to ($240 a month), I don't really care how much it goes up. And at $45 a month at the moment, I think I've got a decent buffer to use up before I get there....

    Blah. Blah. Blah.

Oil is an internationally traded commodity. If you don't want to pay the asking price then the oil companies will simply sell it to the countries that will pay.

Boo hoo. So the oil companies are gonna subsidise NZ just because of the shitty wages here? Get real.

opec are the real crooks, when petrol prices were on the decline they decided to cut production of refined oil to nearly half of what they would normally produce, which of course tipped the scales in favour of demand rather than supply, which drives prices back up.
