    Cool

    Welcome.

There was a Virago at Red Baron a wee while ago... the 535 I think it was.... you know the one that has the false tank on top and you have to lift the seat up to put in petrol. It has a small tank..... but it can be converted to a bigger tank.

As to the price of it.... I can't recall what it was.

Feel free to PM me if you'r around and you can have a ride or a sit on as you'd like.

    Thanks

Well the power is not the issue realy, I mean one dosn't HAVE to twist the handle all the way all the time But I'm not comfortable with the wieght of it. My 65Kg's seems to be a bit on the light side (remember I'm a re-starter) to throw the bike about with confidence. Last bike i had was the Savge LZ650 at 129kg (from memory) and all the wieght low down, I could handle that one easy. I'd really like a nice V-Twin like a virago. I think it will be the right size for me

    Thanks, will have a look.

Why is it that cruisers seems to have small tanks all of them ??
BTW, didn't know about the under seat tank ...

    Hi Odin
I've just got back in the saddle myself after over 20 years away. Bought a little SR250 to start me off, then jumped straight onto a Virago 1100, and I haven't looked back. I'm only 5'4", and the Virago initially felt frighteningly heavy to push around, but I was amazed at how quickly I adjusted to the weight. It feels perfect now. I haven't dropped it yet (except for one embarrassing moment when cleaning it, when I rocked it off the side stand and end up under the bike!).

Any of the Viragos are great bikes, but the 535 will run out of oomph pretty quick on the open road. It is really just a town bike. The 750 is better, but is basically the same physical size and weight as the 1100, so why not go for the extra grunt of the bigger bike?

There's a Virago 1100 at Red Baron - check it out. And don't let weight frighten you too much - you soon adjust.

Whatever you end up getting, happy riding!

It was one of those difficult moments. I could lift the bike enough to ease myself out, but would then have to drop it on the concrete. Pain was the least of my worries........
