    New front sprocket needed, damn!!

I finally got around to pulling off the front sprocket cover earlier today and found that it definately neds replacing. I thought that was a bit odd really as the rear sprocket is in pretty good condition (teeth-wise, could do with a clean) so I was wonder, is it a hard and fast rule that you replace both sprockets at the same time and is there a good reason for it? If not I'll just clean the back one up and keep it rather than throwing out a seemingly good part ...

Rule of thumb is both sprockets AND chain at the same time.
Any one of these that is already 'worn' will accelerate the wear on the new replacements.
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

sweet, thanks for that, looks like I'll probably get the sprockets this month and a new chain next month
