Understood but why say you can do it then if you cant?
And why do they all have to take their break at the same time?

The customer is not always right but when dealing with customers we should be under promising and over delivering.

If you can't deliver the service don't take the money.

Ps Not meant at you in particular motu but at all the people who tell you three hours before taking three days to fix your only mode of transport

Is that for real, Motu? It's mandatory to have set breaks? I guess that my going 6 hours without a break puts my employers offside with OSH. Must remember that at review time.

I shut down during breaks - no one is on the floor,if some one wants something done I tell them that we will be there after we finish our coffee. As crew chief I have to be always available, but it's important even for me to replenish my liquids and put some food in - if I don't stop for lunch I don't have lunch, simple as that.

But yeah, bit places that are customer services need to have people on the floor at all times(banks!!!!) Mt Eden advertise 7 to 7 7 days, they need to have capable guys in attendence at all times.I have an excuse - I'm not a capable guy.

you're right motu, we need our breaks, like lou I tend to work through and eat at my desk, and 4 what? to make money for someone else?

shit screw the customers I'm off 4 a break.

still think if you say you can do it now, then do it now, that is what pissed me off the most.

This is exactly what I mean, service does not mean putting your staff at risk it just means that you have to meet or exceed the expectations you give to your customers.

You would have no complaints from me if you 4 hours to fix the puncture if that was what I was quoted in the first place!
