Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

Sportwise. the mighty all Blacks could win every world cup until the end of time but nothing, nothing, will put this little country in the hearts minds and memories of the rest of the world more than a decent performance by your boys to follow this fantastic day, millions upon millions of people will know of New Zealand for decades to come if you even get close to the finals.

If by some major good fortune the boys made the final, literally billions of people across the world would be chanting NEW ZEALAND! From the forgotten tribes of the Amazon, the Inuit, the Germans, the Zulu, everyone would be able to point to New Zealand on a map (except the merikans of course) and for one glorious moment in time the population of Earth would believe that Australia was merely a part Of New Zealand, wouldn't that be farkin cool.

Anyway rant over, great day, come on the whiteys!

    Oh bugger

Some very interesting photographs in here, although obviously a lot of them I don't know the history to as I'm not all that familiar with NZ history, that said I'd like to learn more.

Appreciated, will just post the post number with the picture/video of what I'd like to learn more about as that'll be easier than posting each picture again.

    #2 - Christmas 1953 Tangiwai Rail Disaster

#17 - Don't recall her name but she was the PM correct? (And I don't know anything about NZ politics so I have no clue if people like her or not...) Yep. Helen Clark

#35 'King Dick' Richard Seddon - famous early statesman/prime minister

    #36 1931 Napier earthquake

#53 Charles Upham - multiple VC winner

#55 Memorial to WW1 NZ soldiers (at Gallipolli?)

#58 and 59 look like the same place Yep. One Tree Hill - had a lone Monterrey Pine until activist Mike Smith (good old Maori mname, that) chopped into it and it had to be removed). U2 did that song about it as a tribute to their Kiwi roadie who died

#62 David Kirk - All Black Captain at the first world cup (the only one we've won)
    Hope that answers your question?
