    well lets start with this.
1). any elected MP is so honoured to have the chance to represent his constituency, he will work for what is deemed to be the average NZ wage at the time of election. All perks, bonuses and perks automatically "earned" after 12years representing the people, go out the window. It would be my absolute honour to represent the people of this most beautiful country and decent society.
2). any person given a sentence of more than 2 years prison sentence, will only be released into the custody of the NZ army, navy or airforce. There they WILL learn respect for themselves, for others, for property, discipline, and train for skills to be used once they are prepared to be released back into our great society as positive contributers.
3). any person on any benefit for time beyond short term will also be enrolled into the armed services. The govt WILL supply excellent housing and chilcare services.4). smoking is illegal etc et(see post above). 5). If you embarrass or disgrace your ministerial portfolio, YOU MUST RESIGN from politics. NO SWAPPING portfolios with your old uni chums. This would only be the beginning, and the current MP's would have their knickers in a twist over these rules, mostly number 5 and 1 because they are so self centered and quite disgusting as far as human beings go.

    Ummmm.....
How about the NZ super scheme is invested IN N.Z...all of it.
No foreign majority holding allowed in any critical NZ industries ....eg Rail, mining (especially if in Parks.)
Sooner or later we got to deal with immigration & how much we want of it.

thems good rules for politicians and bad guys (rules waiting to become laws though)... the politics could be as simple as... take the top vote winner for each party, analyse it and if it can be improved amongst the people, add it to the list of to do items...

Or it could just take the coalition of 3 minor parties (each with big names) plus a 4th high numbers party... yes?
