John I enjoyed the write up. The rider with the dreds overtook me about 3 times. I didn't try and catch him.

Yeah, I chatted to him a couple of times and I believe he did all flyers but Denniston on Saturday (missed the turnoff coming back to Westport), then I think he did maybe 2 or 3 on Sunday. (Farewell Spit & Portage &??)

Yes!! I did forget to mention our mate parked up at the roadworks by Ward. If I'd been going any slower the ST would have fallen over....or stalled.....or something....probably!

It has occurred to me on occasion that one should watch the pace through roadworks but that was the first time I've ever encountered them being policed. If he was going to sit there, it was a bit dumb to pick on that was controlled by lights....otherwise he might have had a Field Day.

Western route was a fun ride, we missed Denniston too, easy to see from Westport but not from Karamea.
Great write up, seems you had as much fun as I did :-)

Yes, that was quite remiss of me! I'm so used to everyone recognising me from my starring roles in "The Mini's Return" and several episodes of "The Grand Challenge" that I forgot to introduce myself...??!!

Yeah, by the time we got to Hanmer I just wanted to finish and wasn't very sociable. I also expected that you'd catch us again before Kaikoura because Steve was in pootle mode but that was that. Oh well...I guess we'll meet at the GC in October.

Great write up, cheers for that.
Glad you got off lightly with your spill.
Capital Cruise and TT2000 2012. Looking forward to my two big rides!
