    Rectifier wiring issue

I have a VFR NC 30 89' which currently has a six spade connection between the rectifier, however I want to put a 5 spade on there so as it can accept an aftermarket r/r (current isn't working).

After looking at the wiring diagram it shows that there are only five wires but on mine there's six (the standard 3 yellow 1 red/white, 1 green. But then there's a brown/red one that comes from the front of the loom by the tank) I was wondering if anyone could shed some light or tell me what I can do with it.

Those pins should slide out of that housing, and then you can insert them in a different housing to fit whatever you like.

Look down the side of the pin, and you will see a tiny release clip you can press using a thin bit of wire or a (very!) little screwdriver.

I understand that but what do I do with the 6th pin?

You will need a wiring diagram for the bike and/or both regulators to answer that, but my guess is, the three yellow wires are stator, red is battery, green is ground, and brown is ignition. You can test that with a test-lamp or multimeter.

Follow my guess at your peril! Get a proper diagram!

look here there are a few manuals you can look at http://www.carlsalter.com/motorcycle-manuals.asp
you should also look at GSresources which has a very helpful discussion about regulators as they often adapt new parts for old bikes
    Good luck cheers
