Hey Ratti, dont give up group riding,perhaps find another rider to go with. You want to be a granny like me and turn up!. Answer to your problemo, move to the Hawkes Bay. Only had the chance to ride with them once so far but made very welcome by those who wanted to chat . Thats both girls and guys. Come through for the "Camp" event coming up over the 2/3/4th April. Most welcome.

hahaha matey just sounds like male ego .. me man type, woman know your place .. looky looky but no touch LOL don't pay any mind to it really ... when I as rode in Oz the majority of our group were females .. wasn't a big group but we had the odd (odd not odd) male dingbat who considered it more of a gang bang lol but even that didn't matter we were new riders so the focus wasn't on the dingbats at all ... the thing that got me more were non-riding females who assumed I wanted to ride to get men! and had no shame in making comments about it, fuck that with a steel barge pole I say.

Usually ride mostly with guys and have had this problem on the odd ride but not the majority. I have found the best way to shut them up is pass them!

Firstly I haven't read every single post cos my lunch break is nearly over so apologies if this has already been asked and answered...but I'm curious.

What did you say in response to the plonker who pointedly told you that 'its not a date' ???

My thoughts on that are that he has a pretty high opinion of himself!

Geez I have never encountered anything like it, in fact I have been on heaps of rides where the men conveniently forget that they have a partner. And I can tell ya that it sucks just as much, you feel really dumb being hit on by a seemingly nice guy only to have one of the other people on the ride tell ya later that 'Mr X' is married...grrr!

Maybe these guys you have been riding with have very possesive partners who have instructed them to make their marital/relationship status crystal clear to any single female??? Sure its natural to talk about your partner but to do so in a manner that makes another person feel like they have overstepped the mark is unnecessary.

If that ever happened to me I would ask the guy where on earth he got the crazy idea from that I was even remotely interested????

Thanks goldgal. The tuesday learners group ride last night was great, 4 women turned up, we almost outnumbered the chaps. Was funny tho cos a couple of the guys were really worried and had the 'was it me?' "nah it was you wasnt it mate" 'Nah I reckon it was....." conversation.

Can't say Ive ever had any females accuse me of that. Maybe in my younger days it might have been true, not now tho'.

I wish! my poor ol' kwaka is up to the job, but my riding skills are pretty crap so passing is not an option right now. one day...

I was so stunned I didnt say anything sensible. I ride slow and I think slow..dammit! If someone can come up with a really good one liner to shoot the next twit down in flames, then please post it here.
Thanks for all the pm's and bling comments. For the edification of other riders, it happens a lot more often than I thought. I no longer feel like it was something I did, I seriously doubt it was anything to do with me at all. More their problem than mine.
