I hear ya re the comment about yr lady preferring to pillion than ride ! Heidi and i are in the same position where she enjoys the closeness that riding together on the one bike brings (funnily enough she has made comment that she likes the speed three more than the fxr ahhhh grasshopper !)
She's been elligable to sit her full for over 6 months but still aint got round to it, cause she knows i'll drag her out, test riding bikes for her straight away and i don't really think she feels ready or even wants to ride her own ride !

And this is precisely why CH is finding a diminishing group to ride with. It's got nothing to do with her (self-proclaimed godlike) speed. Most of the 'fast' riders I know can and do leave her for dead (even on bikes with half the power of the GSXR thou). But those riders also know it's not a competition on the road, so they take it to the track these days. Where they find that egos ALSO have no place.

I reckon there is still a lot of male/female competition to be sorted yet. SOME men who are not comfortable with having women on bikes, SOME women who need to prove themselves against men. Just goes to show how caught up in the bloody mindless gender game SOME folk still are. I'd suggest getting over it and just doing what you like to do cos you like to do it.

Ratti, While I have had a bit of a rant over a post from a particular female rider (who shall remain nameless), I agree with Tart. There are plenty of Males out there who just want to ride for the enjoyment of it, just like you. Sometimes sprited, sometimes not, but at the end of the day it is all about the ride with similar minded people. Sounds like you have been riding with a group of wankers.

Quite the contrary. Ratti's post that started this thread is about men's attitudes to women who ride - in the sense that women riders are often viewed as 'easy'. You know - up for it...go off like a rocket...enjoy making the beast with 2 backs...will fuck anything in trousers.
Her post had nothing to do with attitudes towards riding itself. Either men's or women's.

Funny thing is - there are people who don't ;ike to ride with me because of my attitude and there are people who do and then there are people who I won't ride with because I'm convinced they are out to kill me... We are all coming from different angles..

I've met plenty of female riders with HUGE attitudes intent on proving just how much better they are than me... (since my modern bike is 30 years old that not exactly difficult) and I'm a silly old man intent on being an olderer old man... In general I tend to give female riders a very wide berth until we get to know them.. (exceptions for those who know who they are ;-))

WE yes WE because often the gorgeous Victoria rides with me pillion and usually she ends up getting a lecture about riding her own bike blah blah blah ... Shes GOT her own bike waiting for her to want to learn but we like riding together... We've been married 30 years and we still like each other but some strumpet thats been 3 times divorced still told me off for 'making' Vicki ride on the back??? Theres no answer that will satisfy some folks so we toddle off happy as Larry....

And THAT is surely the point of riding? You are obviously one of the majority who ride for the sheer fun of it. which is my one and only reason for choosing this particular addiction

Nothing like it indeed, a warm body between your knees, thrill of a being with a better rider than me
But its that trust thing that is so hard to find. There are so many who claim this and that,but the riders I would pillion with are few and far between. In fact I only know of one and he is a quiet type you would never notice in a crowd. But widely acknowledged in his circle as the best rider in the bunch.

I've observed that it seems more ALLOWED/ACCEPTED for males to be noters....whereas females get heaps of shit for it. So much hipocracy and double standards on here it's quite fucking sad really.

Example: It was ok for the boys to plaster pron everywhere but the minute a chick joins in she is labelled 'an attention seeking whore who is out to make everyone horny so they want to fuck her'

I have to say something to Paul in NZ, a bit off topic but, I had the biggest smile on my face reading what you wrote about your gorgeous Victoria and how you have been married 30 years and still like each other! I think it is lovely and I hope that I still like my husband after 30 years!
