    Interview criteria?

    QUOTED SENTENCES SOURCED FROM FLICKMYDEANIA

    The Job:

Administrator of the United Nations Development Programme. "It advocates for change and connects countries to knowledge, experience and resources to help people build a better life".

The position is "the third highest ranking member of the United Nations after the United Nations Secretary-General and Deputy Secretary-General".

They have 8 "Millennium Development Goals":

Goal 1: Eradicate extreme poverty and hunger
Goal 2: Achieve universal primary education
Goal 3: Promote gender equality and empower women
    Goal 4: Reduce child mortality
    Goal 5: Improve maternal health
    Goal 6: Combat HIV/AIDS, malaria,and other diseases
    Goal 7: Ensure environmental sustainability
Goal 8: Develop a global partnership for development

"In 2008, UNDP’s entire budget was approximately $5 billion."

"The Millennium Development Goals (MDGs) are eight international development goals that all 192 United Nations member states and at least 23 international organizations have agreed to achieve by the year 2015. They include reducing extreme poverty, reducing child mortality rates, fighting disease epidemics such as AIDS, and developing a global partnership for development."

    Position filled by: Helen Clark

Honestly, take a look at what she did with 4 million people over the 9 years and with a budget of untold billions/year... did she manage to achieve/deliver any of the above goals?

You have to question the interview criteria for getting this job... especially when she now has MUCH less of a budget and a few billion MORE people to consider and ONLY 5 years in which to do it...
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!

I would think she is perfect for the job
loves spending other peoples money on things she has no experience with

seriously though most aid money is wasted as it only makes the local corrupt politicians rich while making very little difference to those in real need. The amount they pay for consultants who never leave their hotel is amazing.

    meh

Maybe just maybe, feudal silver backs, multinational corporations and warlords will finally lose power on earth, and Helen and the UN team can take over at the reigns. Helen and the girls hate the ugly boys who run things now. In many ways I welcome the rise of global emancipation of women. Welcome to the global empire, off with your nads.
