Anyway ... it's not even Xmas and you guys are talking about the roar ? In my part of Godzone it's five months away - that's nearly half a year ....

Got a week booked in the Harkness in March. Counting down the sleeps already.

The average hunting crossbow has the stopping range of about 50 yards (but wouldn't want to be any where in the 90-100yard range of it), there is also there is the art of the actual hunt invovled and that is what its all about, the actual hunt not the actual kill.
phew I hadn't intended to catch such a big fish you'll be saying the camo stock helps too next

I have never had a deer take more than 3 steps, the last one I shot with a 54cal rifled muzzle loader. The Deer was facing me, at 80m the round hit it in the chest and ended up just under the skin above its arse and it broke the Deers spine on the way through.

I actually dont like going out into public land these days espically in March, twice now I have been hunted by other hunters and it just gives me the shits.

I was wondering what things are like in Godzone these days, with the popuklation being as large as it is...
I'm sure the bush is a lot more dangerous now than ever before, do people wear high vis gear for safety's sake, do deer see colours or not?
Hell here in WA the firearms laws are the most draconian in Oz & you aren't allowed to shoot on crown land so that's 90% of WA off limits
