Buell XB12 race kit switch to XB9

Its a long story, but i have an xb9s with a stock muffler. Someone i know has imported an XB12 but won't get compliance with the current race kit.

They are willing to swap the race cans for my stock muffler. The race kits however, also came with a different air filter and a race ECU.

I'm not sure if the race ECU from an XB12 will fit on a XB9, or whether i need to do anything else but the muffler swap (which i think will be a straight swap)

Anyone with some experience can help with what i will need to do.

the ECU might fit physically, but it will have hell of alot different mapping and rev limits etc,so won't work.
If the pipes the same you can always get ECM spy and load in a 9 race map.

Just got my ECm spy and had a quick looksee in the ECM,man its cool, reset TPS, check codes .

if you can get the xb12 exhaust to physically fit then i would go for it,
keep your ecu and filter though, it may run a touch lean, but nothing worth worrying about,
if you changed out the air filters it would run miles to lean and you'd have to do something about it

changed the exhaust only. Kept stock filter and ECU. rode for 15mins at approx 3200rpm for ECU to 'relearn', is running perfectly. Sounds great. will look at ECU remap at later date.
