Don't plan a ride to Akaroa on 20 March

Just been reminded that the " Le Race " is on Sat March 20 so don't plan a ride that day if you want to enjoy the ride ....might have to have a squirt tommorrow ( Sun 14th ) instead ...see you on the road , I'm on the White Bike with two wheels and .....only one seat ...

Never mind the cycllists watch out for the road works, they are everwhere and some on the hill are not sign posted. It seems once the white lines have been painted, the job is 'finished'! Seriously though, take it easy on the way over so you can suss out where the gravel is. Cheers.

If the road isn't closed the cyclists legally have to ride single file if riding 2 or 3 abreast is causing an obstruction to traffic.

    So wots the problem??

Notice how they never seem to sweep the roads clean after maintenance nowadays!

They paint the road markings over the shit and that's it!

The problem is that they don't care.

I agree, we done Duvachelle on Wed night (10th March) and it was still quite gritty in places, so definitely watch yourselves!!

Road works. 30k zones. Deadly treadly race.

I bet the police won't be enforcing speed limits and passing rules consistently for all road users that weekend.

Just ask around at the Sign of the Takahe, one of the owners might be able to help out there
