You are partly correct Frosty.
Yes you have to hold a licence for the bike you will be riding.
Simply paying for an MNZ license and getting out on the circuit on any bike is a no no. Proven competition is required, ie; stamps in the log book and the appropriate bike must be used.
KG--I'd love to have a yarn to ya about this. -an idea to toss around maybee

Always happy to listen to ideas mate.
Heads up to all;
Groups 2 & 3 are full with reserve lists running
Group 1 has just a couple of spots left
Group 4 has limited space left.
We have Sam Smith back after his success in Australia at the Barry Sheene Memorial Race and
Avalon Biddle fresh from her success at the NZ nationals as our star instructors.
See you all soon

I just got my confirmation as well. Great!
However, I see that back protectors are now manadatory? I checked the rules before I applied, and then they were only recommended?
I am not sure I am going to be able to get hold of one before then. The missus is already fed up with forking out cash for bike stuff, and we have just had an expensive visit from a family member from overseas. Lean times. Will beg borrow or steal...
I've got a spare back protector that I don't mind lending out.

How come the Hamilton Motorcycle Club is allowed to use Hampton Downs for training but AMCC isn't?

As a matter of interest, the HMCC just contacted me to say my application has been declined because I ride a Honda CBR - and sports bikes aren't allowed to come to the training. He said (Steve Parker) I was about the 7th person that had been declined on these grounds.
I tried to hire Hampton downs for track days, RUN BY ME, and they said NO to that?
Good luck to them and there future, when the novelty of the new track runs out, it is not just Auckland people that ride on tracks, so Taupo and Manfield will grow/earn from there buisness pracitse long term.
CALIFORNIA PROFFESIONAL SUPERBIKE SCHOOL
Ha ha ha, even they could not tell the track that the start line is to close to the corner< wow!!!!!!!!!!!! they must ride very very slow there

My understanding is HD are going to move the S/F line back about 70 odd metres then it should avoid the last gasp race for the line pile up in the litter aka Craig & James at the TT.
Has to be said it is pretty obvious it was in the wrong place, not sure if the CCS had any influence on its designe though....I doubt it.
