I would like to say a big thanks to all the students for being so well behaved. You got so much more out of the day because the instructors times wasn't taken up by tending to people with Ego issues!

It was satisfying seeing you all improve throughout the day.

Now remember, Ride your own Ride.

Thanks for your time and effort in the day too! I especially appreciated your feedback. Lots of practice to do, but it's nice to know when you're heading in the right direction.

Thanks to Karel and the team for the most fun I've had with clothes on in the light of day

Its always refreshing to realize that we're never as good as we think we are and that we're still able to learn new skills in a safe environment where we can safely test and hone these new riding techniques learned

Things I personally got from the course
Braking - Never had my ABS kick in until we did the front and back exercises. Didn't realize the capabilities of my bikes stopping ability (do you know yours)
A new position for my front braking hand
Cornering - I turn too quickly in the apex of a corner but now learning to turn later - boy Karel would had sore arms in that exercise
First Aid - Great to refresh and learn the latest techniques for first on the scene scenario's
Slow turning obstacles - I missed that last cone first time but now a teachers pet (dont try and order mcdonalds with the first instructor at that exercise as he always trys to upsize you)

Was great to have instructors ride behind you around the track and then signal you to follow them thought the proper lines and braking - I lost a couple of my instructors (into the distance in front of me) but dont worry they have vest with there business names on them so if you find one just return them to that address - Great going guys and thanks it was a blast
The one on one on the afternoon laps was great also
You could ride as slow or fast around the track but boy those corners seem to come up quick at the end of the straights
No matter what your riding level is I would highly recommend a www.prorider.co.nz course and look forward to their next one

    Cheers for that
    Darryn

The Pro Rider team had a really awesome time with all of you too- so thanks for the opportunity to meet and work with everyone - the key to a good "student" is their willingness to learn and you all were prepared to do that on Monday - so well done to you!

Not one "incident" on the track made it even more enjoyable for all of us.

I know so many of you have more skills for your "riding toolbox" which is very the reason we are doing this, so well done to you all.

Keep an eye on the website for the next training days starting in August after winter. http://www.prorider.co.nz

We just got back home today. (Told y'all we were taking the long way home). Had a great day on Monday, and went away with a few things to think about. Had ample opportunity to work on the stuff I learned on the day, and finally got my feet working the boards the way I needed them to on Monday night, after giving it a bit more thought.

Thanks to all of the instructors for the time and effort they put into the day. Special thanks also to St John. I know they thought the 1st aid session was a little rushed, but for me it was the perfect length. A good refresher whilst keeping it motorcycle focussed, and without over burdening all the other stuff we had going on on the day. Top effort!

Great also to meet you all.

    Cheers
    Keep on chooglin'

I thoroughly enjoyed working with Pro Rider to help coach all of you guys and girls on Monday. I was very impressed with the willingness and attitudes you all had towards learning. Fantastic to see so many smiling faces coming in off the track!
Karel does a fantastic job and we are very lucky to have her here in NZ. Thanks to all of you for contributing to a very enjoyable day.

Hope to see some of you again after the Winter.

    Ride safe.
    Vicki.

Wow, they got a photo of me in the pits standing duck-footed and staring at my feet while holding a banana skin. Figures.

The photos are quite revealing actually. My avatar would be ashamed of me. Shoulders and head need to get down and inside the bike's centreline a lot more. The gap between what you think you're doing on the bike and what you're actually doing can be quite considerable, it seems.

I completely agree, we all looked a lot more upright in the photos than we thought. But the key thing is we all learned a lot, noone came off (on the track....) and there is always next time to build on that lean angle and more corner speed.

Website deal is not too bad - $5 a pic. Just bought 4.

None of the pit pics though - belly too large - I'm off to eat some pies to cheer myself up.
