i know the police have a hard job, aint enough money in the world for me to do it. But it does appear as if only certain laws are being enforced, and others ignored. We can all give tales of police in unmarked cars speeding with out there lights on and cops doing silly things. Its juts seems to me that the moblie phone law has been ignored, and people are thinking of more stupid ways of getting round it. It does need to be enforced more

We have been observing the same as others have said on this thread!

Cars pulling over dangerously and parking in stupid places, just to answer their phone!

Otherwise, apart from those few, it is business as usual, on the cellphone, yap, yap, yap!

Nothings much changed, if anything, it's just got worse!

If I recall the introduction of the law correctly, the intention was not to use the law for primary enforcement (aka, to pull people over for using a mobile phone), but to address the situation where an accident happened as a result of the use of a mobile phone, and only a generic charged could be laid.

During one of my few brief moments of lucidity, I realised that after the initial non-flurry of fear caused people to not use their cellphones, it'd be like every other law that people flout (speed limits, stop signs, red lights, indicating manoeuvres, etc etc.) and a considerable number of people would ignore it, knowing the chance of getting caught was minimal. Rationalisation of risk mitigation would see a lot choosing to do it anyway.
In any case, it's like other laws that don't really need enforcing - if someone has an accident, and use of a cellphone is a factor, then ticket them. It didn't really require another law, especially one the cops probably think is trifling and difficult to enforce, so don't bother.

what you mean is it make far more money for the cops to pull speeders, but ignore idiots who think its ok to jump red lights. Cause then the cop may acually have to work and go to court. On top of that they need easy kills to get there quotas up lol

Often see a lot of people here talking or texting while on scooters. That, I can at least understand somewhat as you don't need to worry about the clutch and shifting. But when I see idiots doing it on motorcycles I wonder how they plan to get out of first gear when the light turns green.

I've stopped using the cellphone whilst driving, I can now concentrate more on eating my hot pie while selecting another song on the ipod, and talking to the passenger all at the same time.

The amount of people i see with a phone in there hand txting talking etc i guess the police arent making enough money out of it so they think why bother, as some prat tail ends them cause they where too busy txting lol

So you expect cops to be everywhere all the time? Do they catch every speeder?, every non-belted passenger?, every burglar driving off with your TV?

Personally I found it hard to text with motorcycle gloves on anyway
