    Hey Girls

Bit of an online quarterly 'zine for the lady rider.
This quarter also has some small briefs on lady racers, including the BADD Girl Side-car Team of Tracey Anderson and Jo Mickleson, in the top world 10 lady race Teams! Go Kiwi!

    http://www.helmethairmagazine.com/

It seems to be aimed at the American Market, some stories I find quite inspiring.

Pity we didn't have something in NZ like this, to support and encourage lady riders/racers, there's certainly enough of the demographic out there?
    Hmmmmm.......

There might be enough of us but clearly we weren't supportive enough of having a female rider mag...the last one FMRider didn't last very long - some great issues and articles while it lasted though.

It was indeed - now that the concept is out there, if something similar was produced in future would it be better supported I wonder? What would it need to cover to ensure that it got off the ground successfully?

Yea good questions, I've been thinking a bit about it of late, IMO - would be far easier and economical to start as an online 'zine, as far as contributors - I recon that's easy covered.
We have lady photographers and journos, racers and riders, test riders...it's all there, marketing of a brand and logo....a launch.

Hmmmmmm food for thought, a poll perhaps to guage opinion?

Yes good idea - I am quite keen to get an online off the ground actually, but given the amount of work involved I would have to be sure that I had a fairly robust business plan in place first. Will give the poll some thought

Absolutely, a feasibility study, and a business plan! It would be alot of work, and an absolute gauge of the feasibility of hard copy, economically a tough time to invest in something like that, but there's definately a niche in the market for a kiwi lady rider online mag!

Hi, I just stumbled across your discussion and agree that FM was good (and I still have an old copy to refer to), and that I am keen to support this project. As you say the 'e-zine' is fairly cheap to get going and could be off the ground fairly quickly.

I think there's the capacity to get it up and running and I'm willing to contribute time toward this.

    your thoughts?

What would you expect to see in it that would motivate you to buy/subscribe?

+1 on that, even as a guy, I thought it was a great read!

Trouble with the idea is that regardless of the quality and appeal to some it is going to be a small, niche market and the returns are rarely there to cover the costs. It's shame as the FM mag was really well put together - it wasn't a lack of quality that ended it.

    Good website, by the way!

I'd like to see articles about women who are racing, ride reports, Trackday and training info, new products and riding gear, Bike reviews, maybe maintainence tips etc.
