Of the two incidents, only one had a good ending. I know which one, [ you choose].

Ah yes, no one dead so it's all sweet.
Time off work, lost income, the possibility of months or years of recovery or living the rest of your life with chronic pain it's all good right.

    Good one scummy.

Now had he picked a power pole etc I could at least understand your post.

Have to kinda agree with scummy here but disagree too, your right he got what he deserved scummy, but those innocents didn't.
They now live with the fact they were involved in a crash where someone died. With your occupation you can deal with that kind of thing but to average joe/jane a death outside anything natural is very hard for some to recover from. They will be dealing with all sorts of issues including that it could have been them dead at the scene.

Maybe you could have called it as Darwin Award candidate gets top prize.

Interesting that the radio report I heard this morning referred to the deceased driver trying to escape the police as the "victim"

Of his own stupidity, I guess. Surely no one else is responsible.

If he's old enough to drive then he should be old enough to work that shit out for himself.
That he was perhaps not capable of this is not my concern.
Look on the bright side, it's stopped him from reproducing.

The cops were chasing him for some minutes though. What's the point? If there was nothing they could book him for, then why chase him to begin with? If there was something they could charge him for, why not just send it to him in the mail?

As has been shown, I don't think the cops give a big rats ass. What they care about is whether they get to successfully pull someone over or not, and then conduct their personal attitude test. Thats what a policemans' job is all about - the attitude test. They walk or drive around looking for potential candidates, stop them, conduct attitude test, and if they pass - they walk. If they don't pass - they get charged. Another successful day on the beat!

Quite right, the cops should have gazed at their crystal ball more intently, that way they would have KNOWN there was no reason to chase him, that he wasn't drunk or such.......

I fail to see how this relates to the impact his death will have on other peoples lives.

Not your concern, no. It will be someone's though.

It doesn't. But so what, why should that be any of our concern?

You do realise that this is a biker site eh?
If we all considered the impact our death would have on others to be of great import why would we ride motorcycles?
I don't live my life by the will or desire of others, he obviously didn't either, so it would be hypocritical of me (or you) to expect him to do so.

It's not of our concern and I wasn't saying it should be.

I was just suggesting that this event did not have a happy, or neutral, ending.
