    Now for some real News

They are keeping Anne in this time, seems its an Auto Immune thing, they will get a Dermtologist to view her tonight or in the morning and assess things from there. She is on full time fluids (of sorts, antihistamine?) by way of IV and has had Calamine Lotion plasted all over her body, but is in the right place.

Excuse the spelling. At least I splet IV right...

Thanks Mark. We are thinking of Anne and hoping that her problem(s) will be resolved real soon. We know that you are the one that really needs looking after...
Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?

The current lure has blown in the vein and have tried to fit another several times.....not a happy lady to be honest, they now are waiting on a doctor to turn up and fit one.
I had the same thing happen to me years ago, three attempts in each arm, then along came someone who knew what they were doing and found the right spot first up.
Anne was due for a change at 1am anyway. Doesn't help matters but, what can you do?

Edit: It took another fives goes to get anothe line in, she has had enough for the day.

Been through getting lines in when my hubby was doing chemo. The competent ones make it look so easy, but then there is the other sort...

It is so hard to watch yourbest friend being hurt, my thoughts are with you both.

Tell me about it, we (mostly Anne) has been out walking most nights for the past three months, she finds it hard going walking 5-6 mts now let alone 5-6 kms.
Doctors have said for her not to panick or worry, they have made a solution for her skin.
Her face looks a whole lot better, her legs feel like pins and needles all over, she is eating (which was a difficulty yesterday) hospital food.

Thank you to all those who have text and called both Anne and myself, really mean alot to us both.
She is in the Short Stay Ward on the ground floor of North Shore Hospital, may get shifted to a ward tomorrow.

Hey, it's always difficult to eat hospital food.

Sounds like she could be on the mend, which is good! If ya need anything over the weekend give me a yell, I'm not that far away from the hospital.

Allergic reactions really suck the big red kumera Infact I told the nurse at the A&E Shore Care this morning that I thought I looked like Mr Tomato Head. She said I was not quite that bad, but I think she was just being kind as Maha told me I resembled a Simpsons character, and I have it on good authority from someone that I saw AFTER all the cool shit drugs I have been given, I look like a red spotty zebra You wonder about your friends sometimes eh?

Anyway folks, just a community notice from Mom, do not ever leave any weird sensations that involve your face/lips/eyes/lips/gums/throat for very long at all. Infact, do not collect $200 (unless you need it to pay for the friggen treatment ) and proceed to your neaest dispenser of IV drugs. Do not ever ignore the onset of spots, even tiny little ones for a few days if you have jsut started new drugs. Do not let the doctor you see on Saturday as you are now really getting spotty and itchy, fob you off with a small once a day anti histamine with instructions to come back in 10 days.

I dont really look like a spotty, red Zebra, but I can see how the two could be confused if you need corrective lenses.

Be aware, dont ignore allergic symptoms ever!

EDIT: I will live, but not sure if I will ever take another prescribed drug without finding out what exactly I am allergic to.
I'm sorry Mom, I'd take it back if it helped, but it won't so Tough! LOL. Just get the hell 0uta that place and get aboard the blue lovely and get down south for a visit asap. That'll sort ya out.
    Take care Anne.
Caseye aka rhino to to me Yank mates, if it makes ya feel any better.

The Doctor was around this morning and is happy it cant spread any further and has probably done it worse. Anne will be there till at least Tuesday where they will review it then and maybe let her home.
She had a good nights sleep, the first for about a week.
Probably be sent to a ward today.

"can't spread further" .. interesting statement since I don't think there is anywhere left.

Love and thoughts to Anne ...

Give our love to Annie, from the Oldguy whanau, hope she has a speedy recovery.
Its got to be a trying time for yourself, having to put on a brave face, can really take it out of a person
just as much as those who are ill need support, those who stand by them need just as much.
Knowing even on KB there are those (yes there are still some here who like you, I think) who will support you in one form or another, as Annies support come's from you being by her side.

Sorry i would have miss this thead, if not for a PM late last night from ....? thank you, as I don,t venture out of the offroad thread much.
when I do I manage to get into trouble.

Give our love to Annie, hope to see you both soon
