Only a starting price, so who knows exactly how cheap they will be. You'd also want to find out what market the helmet is from, Arai's destined for the asian market have a different shell shape.

I got my 'not available in NZ unless you wait 8wks' Arai from this out fit, www.xsmoto.co.uk. RRP in NZ was $1169, landed here in 10 days for just over $900. And it's a current model.

Best Protection ?? not really, the Arai only has one 5 star helmet (Independant Sharp rating) and thats the GP5X the others are 2 or 3 star, not the best..................just top marketing

That only matters if you rate the Sharp system as being worth a knob of goat shit.

    It's a shame Arai doesn't make a helmet for the fuller-headed gent.

    Good read, cheers.

I read and was very impressed by the Hurt report, when it comes to helmet design I'm with him. Impact absorption structures designed to manage high G's twice in the same spot will be too stiff to minimise G forces for a single wallop.
