I nearly cut my wrist after seeing the end of The Mist (Oh hey, it rhymes!). Some will love it however. Unfortunately I'm not one of em.

Shite movies? I haven't seen anything yet. On my stock pile of rental DVDs (got six fresh ones in today), I have a copy of "Pride and Prejudice" (the BBC one) which is six hours long. Yay, can't wait to watch that.

making the sacrifice for us all... kind of like the Jesus of movie watching
I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

Haha yeah. Actually lately I saw quite a sum of decent movies and thought I was too kind on my ratings (mostly 7/10 and up). I wanted to see a movie that could make me give some bad ratings. I can't be Mr.-Nice-Guy all the time!

Hey EJK, get out some real classics (if you haven't seen them before) Gone with the Wind, One Flew over the Cuckoo's Nest, Butch Cassidy and the Sundance Kid, The Hustler, Breakfrast at Tiffany's etc.... they're old, but a lot of them are actually really good.

One of my personal favourite movies that not too many people seem to have seen is What's Eating Gilbert Grape? This movie cracks me up..... mainly because a friend and I watched it a year or so before Titanic came out and when we went to see Titanic at the movies we both couldn't stop laughing because we kept thinking "I'm going higher Gilbert!" everytime Jack said something! Don't think it was appreciated when he dissapeared into the deep for good!

"Match in the gas tank, boom boom!" - it is a pretty good movie really, I have a DVD of it here.

Oh, and the beeb's Pride and Prejudice is good as well, don't go in pre judging it, and look for the comedy in it (the mother is the obvious one).
    Ciao Marco

Some real classics aye? Sure will check them out. Speaking of, I've always wanted to see Casablanca and find out what's all the fuss about. :-)

1970s american cinema is probably my favourite era: here's a few titles OTOH

    Apocalypse Now
    The Deer Hunter
    The Wild Bunch
Once Upon a Time in the West*
    The Godfather

    Australia (2008)

Beautiful. Australia is simply breath taking. Picture perfect cinematography every angle, music and drama that is gentle to the heart, with some comedy you can find from Moulin Rouge! (2002), this is Baz Luhrmann's triumphant masterpiece.

    I recommend. "Welcome to Australia!"

    9.5/10

On a personal note: Nicole Kidman's beauty from Moulin Rouge! (2002) shines once again. In this movie, she is a rose blooming in the desert.
Also, the movie is nearly 3 hours. Might not like for those who can't sit around long enough.

Hey, kids! Captain Hero here with Getting Laid Tip 213 - The Backrub Buddy!

Find a chick who’s just been dumped and comfort her by massaging her shoulders, and soon, she’ll be massaging your prostate.

    Devil (2010)

Devil is a comparable thriller with uplifting end. This movie is effectively intensive thanks to the creepy music, however the story may drag and bore some veteran thrill-seekers. An acceptable thriller with hint of Christian message.

    Watch it till the end.

    6.5/10

Pretty sure I would've recommended it in this thread before as it is one of my favourite movies, but if you haven't seen In Bruges before then watch it, they're even showing it on TV1 on Sunday night. I just hope they don't massacre it and chop out the swearing and violence, but they tend to be pretty liberal these days. A must see IMHO.
