From IMDB "With aerial footage from 54 countries, Home is a depiction of how the Earth's problems are all interlinked."

Narrated by Glenn Close. Utterly stunning cinematography. Such devastation in such a short span of time. Words fail me.
Does anyone know if this was associated with the large static audio/visual display in Aotea Square in Auckland before Chrissy?

I can't remember the name of the display or photographer but there was a woman's voice (Glenn Close?) overlayed against some very similar photography to what is shown in the trailer for "Home". Even in still form it was quite a devastating presentation.

But Caine fan would enjoy it.

"The UK's answer to Gran Torino" - that says on the DVD cover. Tried to anyways...

    5/10

On a personal note: Because I very much enjoyed Taken (2008), I was kinda expecting some of that because you know, ex-marine and thugs... But guess Caine has more age than Neeson.
You've seen GRAN TORINO, right? You really should if you havent.

and you make it sound like the character Harry Brown is the thug in question. Which of course he is not.

HARRY BROWN is nothing like TAKEN (which has more in common with that dreadful Mel Gibson thing where he is a father who puts the ransom on the kidnappers head. (can't be arsed IMDB-ing it because I loathe Mel Gibson so much and the film sucked arse).

Superb movie. Went in not expecting very much, but it truly surprised.

    Unfortunately...
    car chases : 0
    gunfights: 0
which means the yanks will fail to appreciate the movie and give it the rewards it deserves.

    9/10.
except maybe an Oscar for Colin Firth?

I intend to see it this week.

Haha, I can't stand Hugo Weaving! I just find him irritatingly unconvincing in just about every role he plays.....but I still loved V for Vendetta so it must be blardy good.

Pride and Prejudice (The BBC one)

I picked up the DVD. I placed it back.

I really wanted to watch it (really tried) but wow, it really did not turn me on. 6 hours. Anyone seen it? Was it good?

I used to be a Kidman fan but she was just wooden, while Jackman seemed bent on overcompensating for all those dodgy singing and dancing gigs. When 2 seasoned actors are outshone by a kid in his first acting job you have to ask yourself what the hell is going on.
Easy tiger, it's just my opinion.

Yep I really liked it, I'm a big fan of british period drama's .... it's a little corny in places, and some of the actors come across over the top but thats what makes it work. I don't get the sappy parts but they aren't many and they fit the story - happy endings are always good,

But looking at the ratings you've given some other movies above, I think it was a good move for you not to watch it. Pretty confident it wouldn't be your thing.

    Super Troopers (2001)

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0247745/

Awesome movie, can't put my finger on it, but for mindless stoner/frat/spoof humor it's easily better than all the franchised same old same old films.

Even nearly cost me my job at the video store - "Meow, how can I help you" - will make sense when you watch the film. 8/10

    Sherlock Holmes (2009)

Interesting and quite clever thriller with a touch of wit. Classy use of cinematography and film. I enjoyed it.

Clever and witty. Those who like mind bubbling puzzles will like it.

    7.5/10

    P.S. Actually, it's not a thriller.

    Changeling

It stars Angelina Jolie, it's about her son being taken and they find him again... but is it the same kid??

It's a pretty moving drama type thing. I won't rate it as it isn't a film for everyone, but I liked it and for what it is, I reckon it was pretty good. It showed that Angelina does have a reasonable ability to act too.

p.s No, you don't get to see Angelina's boobs or have her undress or anything.

Yeah I saw that too. Very good movie and by far my favorite role by Angelina.

    Broken Arrow (1996)

A classic mediocre action film by John Woo. Nothing much to see here, just a classic 90's action film.

    Hehehe what a joke.

    4.5/10
