I wanted to see Paul, but as the ticket was being paid for, we ended up seeing Thor.

Thor: Oh dear. 4/10... in fact we saw it in 3D, so 3/10 and that's for the sniggers it gave... A mish mash of cliche that was acted as such and had me as unawestruck as I've ever been

Bitterly dissapointed I never got to see Paul... So much so, this is going in the other thread.

Oh yes it's just as awesome as the title suggests, so bad it's fucking hilarious

Brutal story though I was left wanting in the acting to be honest, might have been clouded by the fact I had just read a book with a similar story
    7/10

    Burning bright

Ok, pretty crazy situation to imagine yourself in but just mindless and not bad casting in the hot bitch department
    6/10

    Exorcismus
    Eh, average
    5/10

    Not bad!
Few twists I didn't see coming
    6.5/10

    Jarhead (2006)

Funny, hilarious and good story telling (but not a major slam). Jamie Foxx is just brilliant.

    7.5/10

The girl with the dragon tattoo (2009).

Made from the first of a trilogy of books by Stieg Larsson.

This first movie was fully Swedish language with subtitles.

40 years ago, the niece of a massive corporate's CEO disappears. He suspects that a member of his large family killed her and every year taunts him by sending a pressed flower from a different location around the world.

He hires a now-discredited investigative journalist to see if he can discover anything more from this cold case.

What is found is corporate corruption, nazi history, rape, extreme sadism and murders.
Thank goodness there is no singing, hollywood CGI effects or American actors. Anywhere!

My "guide" for this movie was providing a bit of background from the book as we watched and the book is seriously reccommended (apparently).
The books were written for the author's pleasure and were only published after his death. A statement on Swedish history and current societal issues.

The second and third movies are in english and will be looked forward to if they are up to the same calibre as this.

    Fast and Furious 5

Give it an awesome, but not epic 8.5/10 The Rock gives it a nice brutal edge at times. Bit much lovey dovey character depth in it for my liking in this sorta movie, but may appeal to more people than the last one because of it.

the books are brilliant, the first film is fantastic, unfortunately the last two not so much: different director, plus they had to excise bunches of subplots and stuff to get to a reasonable length. the new director didnt have the pacing right, and there was this attempt to focus on Blomqvist as the hero, when in fact he is merely the sidekick: Tonto to Lisbeth's Lone Ranger. Noomi Rapace is brilliant all the way through though. Definitely see the later two films, and let us know what you think of them.

Ahhh Zombies (aka Wasting Away) - 2007

A zombie movie with a difference - a budgetish (light) horror comedy shown from the zombies perspective.

I love zombie movies (dawn of the dead, land of the dead, shaun of the dead, zombieland, return of the living dead etc etc) so I sparked up a doob and watched this. Was it any good? Fuck knows I was wasted. Did I enjoy it? Yep.

Suck on that film review Kate Rodger.

Thanks for the advice dude. I recall when this came out it was compared to The Matrix and I thought it would just be a rip-off so I never watched it. Watched it tonight and thought it was very good. Quite a good social commentary while still being a very decent action/sci-fi flick.

And I loved the epic fight the nemisis
