    'Lion King' in 3D.

Don't bother with the 3D bit to be honest, I only went as it's was the closest place showing it, but only in 3D

If you haven't seen the Lion king yet I suggest you do, great film

If you enjoy teenage girls killing bad people this is the movie for you. I enjoyed it. +brilliant soundtrack by the Chemical Brothers
Ohhh I look forward to this!

Here are some I have watched lately....probably more but they weren't that good I cant remember them!

    Source code

I really enjoyed this film, not overly pushing the boundaries but a good watch

    Hesher

Awesome movie, was wondering if he was a hallucination, if anything does touch on themes of grief and possibly something else what I cant remember right now - dam cloudy being sick brain.

    The tracker

Apart from Ray's terrible South African accent that fades in and out, I actually really enjoyed it, beautiful scenery displaying how beautiful our country is.
I don't know if it deserves a high score but I enjoyed it

"Tucker and Dale vs Evil" - gory redneck / students-in-the-woods black comedy role reversal. Alan Tudyk (Wash in Firefly) & Tyler Labine.

    Good 'n' funny.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

    Lebanon

Set just about entirely inside a tank in the Lebanon War. It's subtitled for a start, and has quite an indie/minimilast feel to it. Did quite well at some of the film festivals, and is more along the war is hell kind of line. Not rambo, more a lower budget apocalypse now or das boot etc.

Sounded absolutely mint on the home theater. The neighbours commented on the sounds of war this morning

    A solid 7.62 / 10.

    Really?

It was alright but nothing I'd rush back to see twice. The audience view being entirely inside the tank, except for brief cross hair views looking out through the periscope, became tedious. I liked the 1988 ' Beast of war' far more, about a Russian tank that got lost from its' unit in Afganistan.

I haven't seen Lebanon, but agree that Beast Of War was a pretty good watch.
It kinda made me think of Das Boot, except with a tank instead of a WW2 sub, duh.

Fair enough. When a film is described as indie then chances are most people won't dig it. It usually either means it's going to shit, or above most peoples taste depending on which side of the fence you sit

Actually, now that I think a bit more about it, it does rate up there. My post was my first reaction to the bits that put me off it. There were some incredibly powerful, thought provoking scenes and the closing last few seconds of the movie- the panoramic view blows you away. A holy shit, didn't expect that to be the closing scene

Drive 6/10. It was no more than almost interesting. It threatened to be something different, but just ticked along at a slow slow slow slow pace.

Second that...a bit of an odd movie, but I really liked it. Not your typical action flick. Realistic (ie technically correct) action scenes most of the time too.

Atlas Shrugged Part I - 8/10... I haven't read the book, although have a digital copy around somewhere, so have no terms of reference... but the movie ticked along with plenty of ooh what's gonna happen next with a mysterious fella turning up every now and people disappearing. I wonder how close to our current way of life it is, but the politics and backstabbery are all believable with various groups protecting their interests. Lookin forwards to the rest of the series... if they're allowed to make them (the movie was only released in the US, and to limited cinemas... can't find out why though)

you will be not pleased to know that that movie went down under fast in the US of A and part 2 and 3 have been canceled as the producers have cut their losses and do not expect any profit continuing with the series

    Puss in Boots!

A spin-off from the Shrek movie genre, with Antonio Banderas as Puss, once again.
Walked into the theatre not expecting much and certainly hadn't given a thought towards a storyline. What eventuates is a combination of fairytale characters woven into one story. Not too badly done.

Certainly one for the kids and perhaps the adults should head off and finish the christmas shopping...
Not up there with the likes of Shrek, etc.
    4/10 for me.

We watched the new Planet of the Apes movie over the weekend. Pretty good, surprised I liked it. 7/10

Also saw Aliens vs Cowboys. I had no interest whatsoever in watching this, was going to go do anything than watch it, but was convinced to start watching it and ended up watching the whole thing and actually liking it. Certainly not as lame as the name suggests. 7/10
