    Yeah really enjoyed Prometheus.

Need to find a website of intellectuals anylysing it to answer a few gaps. One of those movies that left more questions than answers. The ending of course left it wide open for a sequel to a prequel, if that's possible.

Spoiler alert : they cocked up the closing scene though with the space jockey dying from a tummy burster in the wrong location. In the beginning of Alien his body is sitting in 'that chair' in his curved half circle ship with his guts split open, but in the end of Prometheus he dies lying on the floor of the Prometheus escape pod? How could they make such a clever movie and mix up such a simple but key sequence of continuation.

I watched 9th Company last night. Saw it on the shelf in the local video ezy, it had a couple of recommendation quotes on the cover from names i find more trustworthy than others (i think one was channel4).

In all i really enjoyed it. Some dumber moments, but the production was good both visual and audio, and it didn't seem to be as biased as similar films from the US. Story of some Soviet new recruits heading over to Afghanistan. It's kind of similar to full metal jacket.

One suggestion - watch it with english subtitles. The english dubbing is cringe worthy!

    7.5/10

Um, they were at pains to point out that there were many ships and many space jockeys. also the planet (actually moon) they were on was LV223 and the action in the first alien film was LV4... from memory.

There were a bunch of othe plot holes, but dont think too hard about it, just go see it. Best use of 3D ever too

Thanks , that makes more sense and yes, best 3D for clarity in ages.

    Men in black 3

Lots of dry laughs, with tonnes of references to the original. Good enjoyable film.

I enjoyed GOOD FOR NOTHING as well. Although some definite moral ambiguity and a bit slow. but good on them for giving it a crack.
Can't wait for 'good for nothing'
    'My dicks broke'

I finally watched event horizon - not normally a traditional sci-ti fan but really dug the concept
Initially poor effects (it's a little old) but was loving the main room!

Brave - Easy enough to watch, plenty of giggles and the girls enjoyed it (me an mid child shared a tearful moment). However it felt like I had watched the movie before in one guise or another, so there was nothing too new in there really that warrants a higher score... for that it gets 7.5/10.

A B-17 group is based in North Africa, with missions bombing Italy.

The visuals are like those out of Microsoft's combat flight simulator... 2000 edition. CGI has not been used well (at all?) and it shows.
The props used are rather plain (cockpit scenes especially) and if this is a "big budget" movie, then I'll be surprised.
The similarities of MASH were attempted in the camp, especially with the still for brewing alcohol.

Basically, don't see this movie. It's crap.
    0/10.

I put my heart and soul into that role Mash not to mention mastering archery and you only gave me a 7.5/10 for it. Bit harsh

You were awesome, I was rootin for ya from start to finish, t'was the story that was formulaic and it only got 7.5 because you carried it to such a high score (much better when Emma Thompson stopped talkin and butchering the Scots accent... I consoled myself by accepting it as an Edinburgh accent )

Prometheus - meh, nothing too special. The story was a bit too jumpy for my liking and I woulda liked to have seen a little more explanation in regards to what was happening, or at least some form of theory on offer from the crew, but meh... 6.5/10

    Ice Age 4.
All the usual good stuff we have come to know and like with this genre of films.
Scrat manages to get to "Scratlantis" of acorns... and Diego finds a hot chick.

Really liked the Maggie Simpson short film before the main feature.

The Dark Knight Rises. Best of the three. Bane's voice was was feckin annoyin as it was too easy to miss his first few words before you tuned in again, although that coulda been the cinema. It started off a bit slow and after hearing that it had received bad reviews I thought I was in for a loooooooong movie... but once it kicked into gear, not too long into the movie, it kicked into gear. Not all out and out thumpin bumpin and chasin bad guys, which added something to the movie imho. 9/10

    The Skin I Live In.

100% fucking awesome. Twisted. Unwell even. One of the best Spanish films I've seen...since the last one!
