    Went to Dredd last night

    Idd score it 9
wife scores it 9 also even though its not her type of movie normally.

Only complaint was the 3d looked a little funny for the first 10mins then was good after that. wife thought the same thing also.

Madagascar 3 - The return of the return. Some nice touches. Interesting characters and plenty of slap stick that only "cartoons" can provide and the penguins. If you enjoyed the original and the return before the return of the return, then you'll like the return return. All in all, not great, but entertaining and a bear on a Ducati. 7/10.

    KILLING THEM SOFTLY

The good news is, NO ROBERTA FLACK. I liked this a lot, and it definitely is not what I was expecting. I was sort of expecting a dumb Mrkn shoot em up with car chases and such: your basic gangster heist flick. Not so much. This is very noir-ish, dark, brutal and brooding. Basically a character study of an anti-hero (Brad Pitt's hitman character) punctuated with some genuinely shocking and horrific violence, and meditations on the decay of the American empire. The supporting cast is brilliant too, particularly Richard Jenkins (always good) and James Gandolfini playing a long way from Anthony Soprano.

In my top three this year. I loved it. 9.9/10

Alex Cross: meh, certainly no Along Came A Spider or Kiss The Girls, but entertaining enough. Not an awful lot of suspense and I would imagine that if you have read the books you'd want to give it a miss as the dialogue isn't exactly top draw. Anyhoo, the bad guy makes the movie, just a shame there wasn't enough of him in it... 7.5/10

I have liked Nick Nolte throughout his career but tonight he excelled. Only a supporting role but this movie is absolutely the bees knees in emotional drama, action and total WOW! Blown away, must tell the guys at the shop.. well done. Leaped to one of my all time most enjoyable movies

In case you are lost it's about two troubled brothers, their horrible upbringing by a drunk Father/fighter trainer and caged ring fighting, but the story is much more than the fighting. Please give it a chance, watch it! Enjoy!
ps- I'm pissed and have spented more time checking my typing than typing

    edit- Ok, typo's fixed
Probably the best movie I have seen this year. My wife doesn't like "boxing type" movies but really enjoyed this.

    Salmon Fishing in The Yemen

Parts are kinda predictable, but we both enjoyed it. Riddeld with dry, witty, British Humour the 'merkins can't seem to grasp.

I asked God for a bike, but I know God doesn't work that way. So I stole a bike and asked for forgiveness.

Skyfall: 8.5/10. Not a convincing Bond for me, he never has been, but still. It starts off all Bondy and slowly slides into something different. A bit bitty in places, but still an enjoyable movie.

Resident Evil Retribution gets a tentative 8 from me. It probably got bonus points cos I haven't had an evening off in ages...

The ending leaves me in anticipation for the next one though

Not really sure how good this was going to be, but was quite surprised how well it progressed.
Some great acting by Wahlberg since he was in a room without Ted the whole time, and Ted gets digitally added in afterwards.

As the result of a childhood wish, John Bennett's teddy bear, Ted, came to life and has been by John's side ever since - a friendship that's tested when Lori, John's girlfriend of four years, wants more from their relationship.

Couple that with obsessive kidnappers, partying with a childhood movie hero... and "interesting" employers all adding to the storyline.

Probably around the 6.5-7:10 for me.

    Kill List - Rialto

Disturbing but interesting film where violence has meaning to the film.
