Admittedly haven't seen it yet, but is Tom Cruse miscast as Jack Reacher or what?

Can't make myself watch anything with that queer cunt in it. But yeah. Isn't Reacher supposed to be tall?

I guess all the cameramen have to be down on their knees to make him look 6'-5"!

The books are quite good. I mean credibility is not really their strong suit: Reacher is a cross between Superman (physique, physical prowess) and Batman (intellect, memory, deductive reasoning) and Kwai Chang Caine (you'll get that reference- not so much the kung fu as the actual fighting skills). They are very good holiday reading though, I can attest to that.

But here's the thing: Reacher is about the size of Wladimir Klitchko: Reacher is 6 ft 5, and 115 kg, and built. (Wlad is 6'6" and around that 115). Tom Cruise is about 5'7" and by the look of him around 85kg. Dear Producers: IT IS NOT THE SAME THING.

Having said that, of course Cruise the egotist wanted it, has money in it, and it will be successful. I will of course go see it.

    TINKER TAILOR SOLDIER SPY

Very very good. Garnered a lot of awards. GREAT performances all round but particularly Mark Strong, Gary Oldman and John Hurt. Set in the 1970's this is the very antithesis of a lot of spy thrillers (think BOnd or stuff like that). You have to think a bit so will need to make an effort to keep up. Well worth it. 9/10

Like in the Hobbit, but the other way around? I'll go to see Reacher (haven't read the books), but I'll be giving The Hobbit a body swerve as the rings trilogy was much of a meh.
    I didn't think!!! I experimented!!!

You should they are a blast. Not clever, just cool.

Yea I will go and see it too, don't mind Cruse, pretty good actor, but as Reacher, naaaaa. Maybe they will treat it like Batman and have different Reachers every time.

Here are three films that demonstrate Cruise can actually act a bit, unlikeable as he seems to be personally (not that I have ever met him)

    MAGNOLIA

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0175880/

    COLLATERAL

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0369339/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

    TROPIC THUNDER

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0942385/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

In terms of films, the best film of those by far is COLLATERAL. Very good two hander and Jamie Foxx is really good in it.

I watched the first half hour of the TWO TOWERS last night. Pretty good I thought particularly technically and the crafts and VFX crews. Sir Ian is awesome.

    Beasts Of The Southern Wild

Cool movie, especially 6 year old Quvenzhané Wallis's lead role as Hushpuppie.

Just watched Cloud Atlas and still trying to get it all sorted in my mind. Good, I think.

I've read all Lee Childs Reacher books and just cn't see Tom Cruise as Reacher. Someone like Rutger Hauer or Dolf Lundgren would fit the bill better I reckon.

Is Reacher supposed to be 65 years old?
