    Apollo 18.

Supposedly assembled from footage held by the US DoD, it relates to a secret launch of a Saturn5 rocket to land 2 astronauts on the moon. Their secret mission is to set up monitoring equipment that will warn of missile launches on earth...

The movie is a sci-fi / horror, so certain events occur that places the astronauts in great danger, yadd, yadda, yadda.

An interesting story with eminently plausible parts woven into it. Supposedly it reveals why mankind has never returned to the moon...

    6:10 for me.

    Surprisingly awesome.

I'd give it 9.5/10 for awesome enjoyment.

Growing up as a kid when the TV series began I have to admit to being a Trekkie at heart. I really got a kick out of how they drew on the first series and earlier movies for back story and stayed reasonably true to the original plots and threw in the odd line from the past for fun. I never got off on the spin-offs/rip-offs that followed.

    SPOLIER ALERT- plot discussion follows.
The only flaw I picked up in their Trek history was killing off Capt Chris Pike. No! His character went on be the star of their most highly rated double episode 'The menagerie' The plot back then was that Spock had served under Pike years earlier and Pike had since become paralysed and disfigured.

    Good references I liked to the past;
    * Tribbles. Everyone loved the trouble with tribbles (the fur balls)
    * Spock repeating his expecting to die quote - the needs of the many outweigh the needs of the few
    * the amusing swapping of places with Kirk dying in a radiation chamber as Spock looks on helpless
    * Using old Spock is always going to add flavour.
    * the blonde scientist I'm guessing is meant to be Kirk's future wife who pops up in one of the movies. She was a blonde doctor who served with him and they had a kid together
    * of course the biggie being the introduction of Khan.
They honoured the TV & Wrath of Khan movie story, which from memory found Khan and his super GE bred human mates exiled on a baron planet. In fact 'Into darkness' provided the perfect back story that was alluded to in the 1970s TV series. Well done that man.
    * Oh yeah and ending Into Darkness at the very timeline point where the TV series began was excellent. With Kirk making that oh so famous speech ' space the final... to boldly go..' (you know the words)

I enjoyed the movie that came out a couple of years ago but this sequel raised the standard higher. There were probably other references I missed. Almost tempts me to watch the whole TV series again but that would only disappoint with the passing of time. Some memories are best left unspoiled.

Star Trek Into Darkness. It was a good movie. Not a patch on the first one imho. It was like watching a feature length episode or a number of episodes from a series strung together. Hence a good movie. 8/10.

There was one bit that alludes to his size, but if you didn't know (you fuckin spoilers know who yar) you'd be scratching your head over the conversation. Either way, a highly enjoyable movie. Mumsy, as an avid fan of the books, was happy enough with the movie too.
Just watched it, fucking rubbish I should have left it at the store, the 2nd to last bad guy he killed would have made a better Reacher than the baby faced midget 1.5/10

Forgot about him, 3rd to last, when he does the bullshit move of putting down the gun to take him on hand to hand, he would have just shot him

Just finished watching Les Misérables (2012).
I normally find "musicals" difficult to watch (apart from The Sound of Music,.... ) but found it very entertaining and watchable, probably due to Hugh Jackman, Russell Crow and Anne Hathaway's performances. 8/10

ha ha ha ha haaaaaaaa... at least you didn't pay to go see it on the movies

World War Z: Prolly something else the gay fuck above will bitch about at some point in time should he ever get it out to watch from the video store. Great movie. I've always been skeptical when it came to Zombie movies. Seen a bunch of crap in ma youf and it kinda put me off. Although Zombieland restored that faith and so has World War Z. Not OTT in any given way, told the story, showed the Zombies, gave a reason for them not being dead when starved of flesh (always lacking when it comes to zombie movies), few little oh fuck will my heart ever stop moments and it flowed well from start to finish.

    Cabin in the woods
    7.5/10
Holy shit what an unexpectedly good movie!

    Chronicle
    7.5/10
Same as above. Another unexpectedly good movie.

    Red Dawn
    5/10
Didn't actually see the whole movie. Missed the last 10 or 20 minutes. Was typical american bullshit though. Watchable but not great. So many plot holes.

    World War Z

Fun and enjoyable. I really liked some clever bits here and there throughout the movie. It's like Brad Pitt version of Tom Cruise's War of the Worlds. Except more clever'er'. Decent soundtrack too.

    7.0/10

If you can make it on Kiwibiker you can make it anywhere.
