    Imaginaerum 7.5/10

Good music, decent story, certainly worth a watch for a nightwish fan, also kind of tim burton'y.

    MANIAC

    http://www.imdb.com/title/tt2103217/?ref_=fn_al_tt_1

You can't see this. Its been banned. It is now only available to film festivals (and for university study I think.)

Crikey. Pretty hard going. A lot of it is shot from the POV of the protagonist. Who is a (wait for it) maniac serial killer. We are also asked to sympathise with him, and by the end of the film its sort of hard not to in a little way.

Very well acted. Elijah Wood is particularly creepy as fuck in it. the supporting actress is a stunner http://www.imdb.com/name/nm2482391/?ref_=tt_ov_st and also great in it... particularly at the end.

Not my usual sort of film. And I admit, I only went because it was banned. Fuck you, I won't do what you tell me, and who are you to tell me I can't see a movie?

I dont think it needed to be banned but I didnt really enjoy it, and wouldnt really recommend it. No rating.

Was a great laugh. As others have mentioned - not your average cut of bread. Almost monty pythonish.
    With the blonde - 8/10
    Without the blonde - 6/10

Would rank it slightly higher than the latest wolverine flick.

Hmmm…. I remember going to see Sin City at the movies a while back and people were laughing in some pretty strange places. I thought it was so sick it would give unimaginative sickos ideas….. so, I’m not 100% against censorship. So long as it doesn't apply to me....

El Bulli. Ferran Adria. Cooking in Progress.

A bit leftfield of the staples in this thread. A doco revealing a season at El Bulli which was the top restaurant on the planet for awhile. Purely for foodophiles. A meeting of science, art & indulgence. If you think your a bit handy in the kitchen this will bring you back to earth.

    Zombie love story.
Funny with an underlying message about humanity.
Wouldn't say I loved it, but I liked it a lot.

Saw it tonight and really liked it. About halfway through I was thinking "District 9 ish" and sure enough Neill Blomkamps name pops up in the credits. Plus some cool Weta-made weapons.
it's not a bad thing till you throw a KLR into the mix.

    THE WAY WAY BACK

Good cast (Sam Rockwell is ALWAYS good. Toni Collette is quite an actress, and Steve Carrell as the villain is interesting).

Sweet, and funny and all those things. Worthwhile "date-night" movie because you get indie cred, a watchable film, and a better than 65% chance of action when you get home.

It did have a distinct lack of giant robots bashing giant lizards however, so I am giving it 7.5/10.

the sci fi itch will be scratched this week as I go to see ELYSIUM Matt Daaaaaaaamooonnnn
