    Jackass 3 (2010)

Initiative idiotism. Jackass fans will love, haters will definitely hate.

I am a jackass fan and did enjoy it, however I wouldn't recommend it to over 80% of my friends.

    7.5/10

A terrorist comedy set in the UK. I really wanted to love this movie. It was funny, but I found it a little bit bi-polar - a tad too edgy for a full on comedy, and far too sillyfunny for a drama. Some hilarious martying blow-up's though. Worth a look when you're in the right mood. 6.5/10 but I'm so unsure about that score that I'm going to watch it again.

Limitless - 8/10, not what I thought it would be, good plot albeit a little predictable in places, but highly entertaining and worth a watch.

    Saving Private Ryan (1998)

Probably the best, most epic WWII movie. This is pure original, a pioneer of 2nd World War era media. Before Saving Private Ryan, there was no Medal Of Honor, no Call Of Duty, no Band of Brothers etc. Steven Spielberg, John Williams, Tom Hanks, Matt Damon and 5 Academy awards win. Speaks for itself.. Speaks for itself.

One of Spielberg's many master films.

Scores 10/10 out of War category but on general film rate, I'll give 9.0/10.

Stories told from many viewpoints including German.
Germans were not stereotyped "Achtung! Gott in Himmel" buffoons either.

As far as I know (not having been there) it was pretty historically accurate.

limited special effects compared to todays epics.

While you're on old war movies, there was also "A Bridge Too Far" about Operation Market Garden.

Oh that's right.... A Bridge Too Far (I heard about that, and used to play games about it back in 97-98). Man I must check them out!

P.S. Looks like Saving Private Ryan wasn't really the pioneer of all WW2 media. Just the modern ones I guess.

    The Bourne Identity (2002)

A clever secret agent action-jackson film. The chase scene is sublime. One of the best I've seen.

    Enjoyable but not great.

Battle Los Angeles 6/10... nothing truly original to see. A pretty straight forward, aliens, guns, humans, never say die kinda action flick with a sprinkling of "happy happy" moments.

    Dante's Peak (1997)

Simple and total 90's Universal Hollywood film, which relied much on stage than CGI (which is good). It's not great but it is a GOOD entertaining disaster film. Probably my favourite disaster film.

    James Bond and a volcano.

    8.0/10

Edit: Just checked on RT. 22%? Wow is it so bad? lol

    Apocalypse Now (1979)

Spectacular, chaotic and impactful film that finishes with a deep mad message (which I can't quite get my head around at the moment). For a (late) 70's film, this is absolutely outstanding. Not mentioning so many originalities. Stunning.

This is a film that flows down the Styx river, all the way to the Valley of Death.

9.5/10 for War Film rating, 9.0/10 for General Film rating.

    On A Personal Note:
*LOL at Laurence Fishburne. He wasn't even 20 years old at that time!
*This film is where "Charlie Don't Surf", Ride of the valkyries, "Smell of the napalm", "Death from above" and many other references are from. Absolute original.
*The bull slaughtering at the end was actually real according to some web search... *shudder*
