The mystery continues ..... some say he ......
Much to the disgust of my teenage children I have a issue with illegal downloads. I am against it. Ditto free music sharing.
It bothers me the activity will dilute the revenue of the movie/music companies to the point where they reduce their investment levels and just turn out crap after crap movie. Maybe it is happening already!
Then again I hear Daniel Craig has turned down 68 million or something to star as Bond in the next two movies. That's stupid money. To A. offer and B. turn down! But the act of turning it down implies his income from the preceding movies has set him up for life.
I want a job like that - and to be fair based on the just released average lifespan of a New Zealander (83 I think) I only have 39% of my life left so I'd be cheap to run.
I am kind of pleased the music industry has been gutted by "illegal" downloads. And I love music. But the music business? Awful.
I dont download music but mainly because I like THINGS. CD's. records. liner notes. expensive "collector" boxsets. Coloured vinyl. all that shit.
TV? download whatever I can.
I've thought about it a lot. Its because I have always paid for music. Scraping together my pocket moneys to buy records (or 7" singles) but TV has always just been ... there. Plus any industry that spawns a Paul Holmes, a Paul Henry, or a Batchelor, or any other unreality show deserves what it gets (760000 viewers apparently).
TV shows have never been better. TV networks have no clue.

my issue is not with actors, performers or content producers getting paid.
My issue is with jews. Sony especially, the amount of a 30 buck cd that went to the artist was dimunitive to say the least. While the CEOs were rolling in it.
Something like itunes (ignoring my anti-apple, anti-closed source proprietary, drm shit, just the distribution model) i could support - where the few bucks goes straight to the conent creators.
Also i have big issues with tens of millions of dollars in production costs when people are still dying of starvation, homeless, cancered and generally money-bullshittery.
I've drunk too much tonight - I find myself agreeing with Akzle again. And we have previously agreed that Pacific Rim(job) is a crap movie.
I just download torrents to my android phone then cast to my PS4 and watch on TV. I don't even have to move.
I watched The VVitch last night. It was pretty average. The ye old English dialogue was a little hard to follow but had a good amount of blood so not a total loss.

Anyway. Quick action flick, non-believable, no surprises. Lots of bullets.. Done well.

low budget? ozzie flick, not terribly thrilling and with some characters that felt more like apendicies that characters (they get killed off) and some fairly forced dialogue.
an original idea, well enough put together, another one i'd like to see a more refined blockbuster remake of.
Still good for 7/10
