Hey Scrivy yea a slight mod was made to the leathers in the lower back but it was to give him more shoulder room when hunched over the bike not more tummy room....lol.

Actually we like the sound of 10 times superbike champion........ Andy is riding well enough to keep racing at the top level and i would love to see him out there again next season... so time for a bit of peer pressure on that man i think....

Totally agree, The main reason i went to Hampton was to see Andrew Win.....so at 42 he is the best...does that mean we have no new guys coming through or is he just that good?

I get to go to a lot of industry gigs and there is no better servant to his sponsors than Mr Stroud. He turns up smiling, in the kit, and always pleased to meet the fans. He does a good job of supporting those that support him.
Those coming through the ranks would do well to note how he does 'the business' off the bike as well.

    No - not *that* business.

I agree that the younger guys should take a leaf out of his book. I get asked to "help" so many people but i can only give it if there is a return for my business. It does not need to be a cash return but at least show up for prize giving (wether you win one or not) and tell people how much you appreciate the help you get (got). Maybe run a sticker or 2 and keep your bike looking immaculate. Talk to the fans about your bike and yourself. Make yourself known and encourage others to come along to watch. Its just the basics really.

Man that's awesome. I have known of Stroud since he raced at the Battle of the twins at Daytona on that incredible Britten motorcycle. He was racing against Pascal Picotte (well known in Canada) and Pascal is no spring chicken.... so I figured Stroud had to have a bit of age on him.

BTW - Anywhere I can watch this seasons NZ Superbike races on the net?

a HONDA ewwwwww....... lol na i have to say Craig rode his heart out this year. That guy is an ironman. I saw both his crashes and they looked like they would have put most people away for the weekend but not Craig. He went streight back to his pits, appoligised to his team and went to work getting the bike ready for the next session. Well done Craig, also a credit to his sponsors.

Thanks man it sure was a tuff weekend. I think it is fantastic that Stroudy won again it gives us older guy's hope and the motivation to rock on I no he put in a lot more effort off the track for this season and it certainly paid off, once I heal up my plan is to do the same we had the pace on the Honda to run with Andrew and Robbie but for many different reassons I just couldn't do it for the whole race but next year I will be much much stronger. I HOPE lol. PS can you please tell Scivil that I am hard

I watched the first superbike race from turn 3 (I assume its 3 - fastish left hander). Due to the "sidecar issue" there was a line of dust/grit right through that corner.
Andrew put his bike inside that line of dust every time - maximum lean angle, wicked pace and inch perfect lap after lap.
I dont think there was one other rider in the field that managed to hit that line with consistency and most at some point ran across the dust with resultant slides or even well outside it (slower).
It was a great lesson in precision riding - and thanks to the sidecar crew for providing such a good point of reference.
Was also brilliant to see Andrew patiently closing the gap on Budgen in the second race. Unfortunately I didnt see the pass but that was a great race to watch. He's a legend for sure.

just out of the barrell 51 'roll' bugden had passed a backmarker and heard this bike come at him , he looked over and appeared to back off a little seems he thought it was the backmarker coming back at him but it was stroud!
What impresses me was the stroud didn't settle for points needed in the first race, went for the jugular, and won it...
and yes while shirriffs had a difficult season there were a few highlights like a lap record at levels, albeit a breif one, and getting out in the front at manfeild and while it was clear he was suffering in the first race at hampton downs he pushed hard for the whole second race for the chamionship place with james smith it was a credit to both of them.
Honda are rumoured to be going to market a 'Shirriffs replica CBR1000RR Hampton Downs motard special ' after his weekend of riding on the tarseal and dirt...
