Woodyracers Hampton downs street stock nationals

Had a fantastic weekend, the AMCC realy pulled this together, heaps of bikes and the most spectators ive ever seen at a track event. Awsome track,

    Qualifiying,
After waering the tires in for the frist practice session i had to go for it, Alex bowers kept me on my toes and pushed me on, The bike is new to me and the suspension hadnt been changed from road so it was very bouncy in the fornt. I qualifyed 4th on the grid with a time on 1.31 sec, i was pleased as i was on the fornt row with Jason cameron on the other hyosung.

    RACE 1
Got an average start, followed alex for awhile then jumped at his mistakes and overtaking him coming into turn one. I worked on pushing the hyousng harder and harder, pulling away from alex and getting my self away from any threats. I came 4th with a best time of 1.30 sec

    RACE 2
Got an excellent start, stayed with Gavin veltmeyer and Jason cameron this time for abit, they made me faster, The front forks were abit springy so they didnt handle the out of corner power very well. Had the back sliding out into turn 2 which was abit of fun. Was by myself though, as id pulled away from Alex but wasnt close enough to Gavin to rival him. Again i came 4th but droped my time down to a low 1.29.

Overal im haPPY, my first time on this new and very different bike. I very certain its going to be a weapon in the winter series as im alot quicker on it and it fits me perfectly.

Also Thanks Hyosung nz for there help, and getting the bike & parts in time.
Best race meeting ive done yet, excellent meeting AMCC!

Thanks, Track favours nice handling bikes, and a rider with lots of confidence, so the more you ride it the better you get, ive still got along way to go before the bike is at its limits.

Top effort, fella, those are some good times, and all of the racers ahead of you were a bit above the average, I'd say!

A shame you didn't get your last race. I'm not sure why they couldn't just shift you to the last race of the day and at least give you a chance of getting one in (they're allowed to run pretty late there, it would seem after Friday)

But overall I agree, top effort AMCC, especially for working to bring in so many spectators!

Well Done Max it sounds like you are really enjoying the Hyosung. You will keep on improving with every Race meet you attend. It sounds like you and the Hyosung work well together. Goodluck with the rest of your Racing for 2010.

Cheers, the hyosung is so much fun, feels like im riding a bigger bike without the bigger costs, il oving it so mcuh, because the bike and me fit together perfectly so i feel very comfortable on it. The bike could go quicker than that, its a bummer i didnt get out for the 3rd race as id changed the suspension to work with my wieght better.

My next meeting is a track day on the 10th and a race one the 11th, looking forward to gettign more time on the bike again.

Well done Max. I see I'm gunna have to come up with some more excuses as to why you young fallas just jump on the bike and go faster than me.

As long as I can get infront of that old Rusty cout now and again - I'll be happy!

I hope to be at Taupo on the 11th. See you then.
