I'm surprised at some of the comments in this thread - actually no, I'm not.
First, I think whoever wrote the blog that is linked in the first post has the complete wrong end of the stick. Swinging, in my mind, is not permission to go out and shag whoever you please - it's something that a couple participate in; both parties are present! So yes, it makes sense for the other lady to get defensive and protective when the blogger suggested having a night out with her man without her - that is not swinging.
If there are any doubts or concerns as to what it may do to a relationship, it's sounds like they're not ready. Full stop. I think swinging becomes an option when a couple are so committed to each other that their relationship has reached 'another level' (as a tacky was of putting it).
Does the idea of someone else shagging my missus turn me on? Yes. Does the idea of me shagging someone else turn on my missus? Yes. Condition: we must be together when this happens! Have we tried this yet? No, so yes the idea of this is still a fantasy, but it's the point were you feel you have no insecurities with your partner and are confident that there will be no emotive quandaries by partaking in this fantasy. Fun is all it is. I guess the first step is to go to a party and observe and I'd imagine you'd know pretty darn fast if this was what you want to do.
Jesus I cant believe Ive just said this on KB.
