Rear tyre pricing - Battlax?

Need to replace the rear on my 98' GSX 750 F.
I have a battleaxe on the front but was horrified by the $240 price tag of a rear. (yes I am a cheap-arse, but no I don't want to die

Complaining about the cost of tyres at those prices? Maybe I should buy a smaller bike with cheaper rubber. The BT016 on at present, that looks like it might do 9000k cost $400.

When I asked about tyres I told him what the bike was & he gave me the price, didn't even tell me what tyres he was quoting on, I guess what the bike should have on it was a done deal.
