Places to stay in Palmerston North - help!

    Hey all,

Was wondering if someone local could recommend a good hotel / motel for my parents to stay in Palmerston North. Not sure how much they're wanting so splash out .... but I'm just looking for a place for example you would go to stay for 2 nights. They will be there in May. I'll be going down for my bros graduation too but I'll prolly just camp out somewhere under the stars as I don't want to pay for a hotel room just for myself.

    Thanks in advance guys...

Na Pussy I've got to think like a student now... on a budget! - This thread is mainly for my parents though, they need a descent place to stay - like a motel or sumthing.

The Raceway motel at Feilding is good... stayed there a few times now when doing Manfeild trackdays. Close to Palmy

I stayed at Illuzions (I think that's how it's spelt) a few weeks ago. Was affordable, roomy, etc. Basic accomodation but very friendly and clean. Otherwise there are a couple opposite Countdown that are good, more expensive but have spa baths etc etc, can't remember the name of them sorry. I found Ezibed.co.nz good for finding places to stay as they have customer ratings etc, Wotif.co.nz is handy too.

I'll have to look at an old VISA bill.
The Raceway is nice, the people who own it are awesome and very helpful (they've lent us their courtesy car several times to go in to town for a nosebag), and put on a bloody good cooked breakfast. I don't look for any other place to stay down that way

Any motel along Fitzherbert Ave would be good, as that is motel row in Palmy.

Depending on the mobility of your parents you may want one near the centre of town.

Do you realise how many holes there could be if people would just take the time to take the dirt out of them?
