I blogged my 8.5 hrs of madness ...

What I want to know is why did my 2009 bike bog down at 5.30pm tonight, rain was my answer... came down a nasty hill, and do you think for the life of me I could get up the next... damn thing had no power. Did I get upset NO, Did I get pissed off, YES.... did I try to fix it... no ... I patiently waited for Geordie to realise he had lost me... to fix it... nope... DAMN BIKE.

Went to buy WD40 or CRC at shell garage, and they DIDN'T SELL IT... now that sucked... ah well. Went to countdown, the place I would not expect it, and rode home 40km ALLLLLLLLLLLL the way from the west to Papakura, @ 40km...

    I love my bike....

Keep the WD40 with you on all rainy rides. A bit of googling reveals the ignition coil being susceptible to water and loss of spark. There might be a way you can safely cover it? Of course being very mechanically rusty and not knowing electronic ignition systems - maybe they don't have coils!

Hah! Try running an old 400/4 in all weathers! Bloomin plug leads stick out, coils get splashed with everything that gets flung under the tank... Ah, memories!
