BHS leaner motocycle courses in lower North Island

    Hi,
Im hoping to get my learners license, and have been reading about courses which take through basic handling skills and then give the the BHS test, especially good for someone like me who is relatively inexperienced. However there doesnt seem to a lot of information on the net for ones in the lower north island (Palmerston north, Hawkes Bay and Wellington), just mostly Auckland based ones. If anyone knows of good places round here and can point me in the right direction, that would be much appreciated.
    Thanks Sam

The local bike shops will have this info. There is something like this in Ashurst but I don't have any info on it sorry.
Ride it until the wheels fall off...

dont try and keep up just go for the ride (ride your own ride)
    they will wait for you!!!
go on plenty of rides with ppl who will guide you and help you out, its not a race!!!!

I agree with Hayd3n don't try keep up with the bigger bikes...ride at your own speed....if you find a good group of people to ride with they will more than happy to let you do your own pace. Have fun out there

Definately go with stayupright out in ashurst. they are really good. Did my BHS cert with them in the rain and by god did they earn their money that day with me lol

they all even went out of their way to organise me to do mine on a Sun morning (they usually only run them sat but im at work)
the amount of patience they have is crazy (lets be honest i sucked to start with!)

    couldnt recommend them more highly.

RoadSafe in Wellington is another option.

    http://www.roadsafe.co.nz/

Andrew Templeton has been doing this for quite a few years and I've never met anyone that doesn't have anything but praise for him

    He comes highly recommended.
I'm only wearing black until they develop something darker
