Woman? Are they really worth the hassle? I hope so!

Bloody hell, I'd arranged to have dinner tonight with a young lass that I quite fancy. I've known her for a while (month or so) so thought I'd better go to a bit of effort before asking if she wanted to take things further. Bought a couple of salmon fillets, nice bottle of wine, made dessert, cleaned up a bit. You know the general things a guy will do to get his end away

This was arranged yesterday morning. My brother knows about it cos I kicked him out for the night just in case things went well.

I had to pick her up from her place as her car had broken down.

I turn up there tonight and knock on the door. Her father answers and I ask if the young lass is home. Nope sorry not at the moment. Oh where's she gone?

Long story short she's left me high and dry and not even a phone call to say she couldn't make it. The look of pity on her parent's faces, I'll never forget it. I have to say I was slightly embarrassed, and it takes ALOT to embarrass me!

Time to move on and spend my precious time on someone else.

Anyone want to come round and enjoy a nice salmon fillet, glass of wine and dessert? I'm bored outta my tree. I think I'll go and get pissed.

    Rant over!

Thats why us kiwis consume it so fast! We know that it gets "stale?" if left for more than a couple of hours after opening.

Reading this made me sad and hungry. I'm sorry to hear about your let-down tonight. She was obviously not the one for you. I've had similar situations like this before too. Some women aren't worth the hassle, but the right one is worth their weight in gold.
I hope you have better luck next time...and good on ya for putting in the effort!

    Wine $20
Salmon fillets, side dish and dessert $30
    Travel $4
    Total $54

Hey if I'd saved that money I'd have half a shag? If someone could confirm current prices...

I would be sad to think that was true. I did the almost exact oppostie to Maha the first "date" we had.

It seems the messages were a bit mixed, she did not realise you were serious maybe, always look for the bright side.

    That sucks though.

I have been lead to believe that for $120ish(neg) you could release all the worries of the world, for a fiddy you could perhaps just get a helping hand sharing some of your worries.. Then again you have have just helped yourself and put the money into Bonus Bonds

Sorry dude. She's on her way back home now.

And it was only $100, if you really want that confirming.

Seriously though, first meal, eat out.

I didn't want to date her when we first became friends. I'm more gutted she didn't let me know she couldn't come or perhaps didn't want too. Mainly because it made me look like an idiot.
