    Hey all

Since I'm quite new to this whole two wheels thing, I may come along to the next night for some education on how not to kill my bike! Can we just roll on up, or do we need to know the password to whisper to the guard at the gate?

    Cheers!

Yes, the password is "I've brought drinks and food for all!" to which the guard and everyone else with think you're the dog's bollocks and welcome you warmly. Alternatively you could just turn up and have a good chinwag like the rest of us.

Um, attaching the photo kinda gives the answer to your question away.

Not sure about looking like a Christmas tree, but it turned a murky brown camouflage colour today.
Should have taken my camera along.

That was good fun! I think the only thing that stopped the mud getting in my ears was all the sweat that got there first! Hoo-ee I'm going to be sore tomorrow!

Hope Sam's doing OK, he seemed almost as nackered as me! He was going a bit of a red colour for a while there, poor bugger. Man his bike sounds delicious tho! Wow!

When I saw that photo I thought it had a big tank too but no, it's just the angle. It has the standard 9L tank. That will however take it close to 190 before needing reserve (apparently but with the way I ride I can pretty much halve that!)
Speaking of Lettuces and snow, I did take it for a lap round the house yesterday and may have, inadvertently, gone thru the garden ...

Hee hee, my mind is already devising plans! Not really, just one small LED so I can see the speedo at night ... Then again, it doesn't really go fast enough to warrant having a speedo

Yea, that would have been cool. However I think I got enough footage for all of us combined. It was rolling from when you got your bike out of the van until I got home! What's that, 3 hours-ish?

Not bad on battery power it seems!

I'm glad your bike had a light on it, sometimes it was the only way we could see where you had gone. What's the wee mythical creature, a small light that leads weary travellers off the path? That was you today, tho I don't think many old time travellers would have been quite as happy to follow
Thanks for waiting for us along the way and all your help and advice, I'm still grinning.

I was happy to feel that some of the old memories of how to ride off road were still there but man, absolutely none of the old muscles were there! Bit of a shock to the otherwise apathetic system

Holy crapballs, did I mention how sore I'm going to be tomorrow?

I bet he was! Poor bugger. I saw today why people said "for that kind of stuff, get an electric start!" and I agree too ...

At least we'll have very muscular right legs!

And yep, I'm still grinning tho some of that could be attributed to the lack of sleep

That was a cold, cold ride home afterwards. Getting stuck in deep, cold, muddy water is not recommended before a long and quick road ride!
