    Well...did the battery hunt.
Rang EVERY! battery retail shop and bike shop & repco and even supercheap auto (yup, they do bike batteries)
costs were pritty much the same everywhere $310-$340.
BUT, when I called Emoto and spoke to peter the owner, and advised him of the quotes given, he reply'd...and I quote:
"Well..can't have that, I like selling stuff...I can beat those prices!...hows $270 sound"
    ....SOLD!
So there we go, need a battery, call peter at Emoto
Tues...day off in the shed fitting the carbs and new batteries, tune her & if all goes well (eg: petrol doesn't piss everywhere & she actually starts lol)...I'll be along on wen's night (I'll be the one smiling alot!...cos I got me bike back!..no more "car" usage 4 me)

ps: maxf, cheers for the tech advice ...always good to cover the basic's first

I would have replaced the old battery's with a MotoBatt battery they are that good you can replace the two battery's with just one of these and it will turn over better than two normal ones, fit and forget

wanted to pop in tonight but gerbil-power wouldn't start! only the second fail since I bought it, and my restricted test is tomorrow. great timing! so it's now stuck on the charger (voltage was low and struggling to turn over the engine). i hope it's okay after a charge and not a busted 'rectifier' thingy
    I can haz twisties!
